Various exciting things

I've been lax in my journaling, apologies to my faithful readers.

I'm up to 3 leads on my job hunt. Google, my initial top pick, has FINALLY responded to me about scheduling a phone screen. I'm past hurdle number 0 with them. I've had 2 phone screens with Amazon, they will likely invite me for an on-site interview soon. Loudeye is the current leader, passed the phone screen, had a good on-site interview with them wednesday, and I am expecting to hear about an offer soon.

Ideally, I'd like to have offers from all 3 on my plate before I choose one. Would let me know my options and give me good fodder for negotiation. Realistically, Google is far behind the game currently, since they took so long. I'd rather not blow an offer by waiting too long, so it may end up being just between Loudeye and Amazon. The upshot is that they are both on the west side, so no cross-the-lake commute. Google is in Kirkland, which is not a friendly commute (choice between 520 or driving through Bellevue, both suck at peak traffic times).

In other news, I turn 33 this Saturday (tomorrow). Michelle and I have planned a nice birthday weekend extravaganza. Front 242 concert tonight, the cannibal musical Sweeney Todd on Saturday, and Seussical (a musical tribute to Dr. Seuss) on Sunday. Yes, I have odd eclectic tastes.

I also found out (thanks to another Scorpio friend) that November is "25 for $25 month". 25 of the nicest most expensive restaurants in Seattle are offering a relatively "cheap" limited menu to give those on a budget a taste for fine dining. Dinners are all $25, lunches are all $12.50, wine is of course extra. Northwest Source has more info.

While I'm not sure if we can fit a fancy dinner in this weekend (Sunday, maybe?), I definitely plan to hit one or more of these places this month while I can afford it. Maybe to celebrate when I get a job offer :)
