Pwnage Sticks: Theoretical Logistical Deficiencies

May 02, 2009 12:05

So I was having horrible flu-like symptoms (aching joints, inability to keep down food, headaches, nausea, sore throat) most of the week, and given that the swine flu merrily making its way around the world and given my normally paranoid tendencies when it comes to disease, I was of course in the grip of nightmarish scenarios that all ended with me ( Read more... )

I'm stunned. Yes, the chick has cleavage, but the dude is actually wearing less than she is. She's got those bandages all over her arms.

Interestingly, in previous art that we've seen of the Indigo leader, she appeared completely bald, didn't have much cleavage, and appeared overall very gracile. She also appeared to be wearing more clothing and was speaking in an alien language. It'd be REALLY cool if the Indigos' approach was to not even to bother to communicate in language and they wound up communicating only in emotion. They obviously talk to each other (based on what little we've seen), but I wonder if they'll show up and just beam compassion at all sides involved, or if they'll explain themselves in language.

And yes, he's hardly wearing ANYTHING. He's NOT EVEN WEARING UNDERWEAR! This confirms further my conclusion that they're all space hippies at heart.

Er, yes! Space hippies!

Also, I'm glad you're feeling better. *snuggles*

So am I. It was touch and go there for a day or two, let me tell you, honey. You know how when you feel SO bad you can't even remember ever feeling good? That's how bad it was.

Not quite. I do know what it's like to get doped up so much you can't feel anything, and the absence of the pain feels wrong (the tooth that kept abscessing)

According to either Johns or Van Sciver, the whole idea behind the Indigo Lanterns is that they give so much of themselves that they only leave scraps of clothing for themselves.

Where is that cited? I thought it was the Blues that were making the ultimate sacrifice?

If that's actually true, that's interesting. Two Corps that give, one Corps that wants to take, one Corps that wants to exist purely in a chaotic emotional state, one Corps that wants to cause others to exist in a chaotic emotional state and to rule, and one Corps that places primacy on will rather than emotion.

I could swear it was in one of the countless online interviews they've done. It's meant to fit the Indigos' monastic, healing-driven existence - as beings of compassion, they literally live to care for others.

It's like they're all somebody's fanservice. Hot girl, hot boy, tentacles, avian furry. . .stop me if I'm wrong, which I'm not.

I was reading an old issue of Silver Surfer last night from the nineties where Nova, Surfer, and Firelord wind up on an alien planet, and a busty catgirl propositions Firelord. The first thing I thought was "FURRY FANSERVICE!" The second was laughing at Firelord's BOMCHICKA BOW WOW HEY BABY, HEY BABY, YOU SO FINE facial expression. Clearly, alien catgirls cause Firelord to temporarily lapse from gay to bi.

And you're right, of course. FANSERVICE EVERYWHERE.
