At the adult age of 22, I still have a single baby tooth left. The adult tooth never formed above it, and the little thing ended up getting wedged solidly in place when my other adult teeth came in and entrapped it.
That was never a problem... until a portion of the baby tooth broke and left a sharp, ragged edge that often left cuts on the side of my tongue.
Then bits of food started getting trapped under it, between the gum and the remaining portion of tooth. The only way to get it out was to dig it out with a toothpick, which often ended up in me gouging myself and bleeding.
Tonight, I couldn't take it anymore. I'd been messing with the tooth by picking, poking, and wriggling it for months now. It got to the point I couldn't chew on that side of my mouth anymore, and it had to end.
Instead of going at it from the usual angle of from-the-outside-in I began to apply pressure from the inside-out slowly and steadily. With a sensation that was more akin to finally getting a stubborn bit of beef jerky out from between your teeth and the resulting relief, the little bastard was pried free without spending $100 for a dentist to do the exact same thing.
There was no gush of blood, nor pain, and since baby teeth don't have roots nothing more than a red patch of gum where it was once stubbornly attached is left.... and boy do I feel GREAT to be rid of it!
Victory is mine!
