[Ficlet] Hitman Reborn - Tsukimi - 1896

She had not seen him leave the area but given his condition he could not have made it far. Battling fatigue and injuries, she first made sure everyone else, especially the Boss was accounted for. Thankfully they all were. This time.
The day had slipped away, fighting normally does that. The sun had set long ago, only the moon lit her path. She knew where he had gone, sometimes he was just too darn predictable.
The climb up the stairs took longer, she needed to pause several times. Blood loss was something to deal with later.
Finally the roof. Though it is dark the moon illuminates his silhouette against the wall. Slowly she creeps over carefully trying to not startle him, the last thing she needs is another gash. Gently she sits next to him resting her tired body against the wall. His breathing is hard but rhythmic, a good sign. Catching a glance out of the corner of her eye she can see blood staining his face as he gazes up at the moon. His hand rests on the ground. She pauses then slowly moves a few fingers over his hand. Even with all the energy he spent he is still cold to the touch. But to her surprise and relief he does not pull away.
Neither speak. Nothing needs to be said. She moves in a bit closer turning her own eyes up to the brilliant moon. Its glow a quiet reminder that tomorrow will come, a new day on the horizon. Hopefully a fresh start. She sneaks another look at him, his eyes now closed. Sleep has finally overtaken him.
Her grip on his hand tightens. Never asking for help, never desiring company, the Vongola's lone wolf really, but tonight whether he wants it or not she will not leave him.

Author's Notes: Holy crap my first real post here since April...well Rune I hope it worked XD When you gave me the prompt Chrome touching Hibari's hand was the first thing that popped into my head. I just needed a reason XD Im afraid Hibari might come off a bit since we arent use to seeing him like this. But he is human at least we think he is XDD.
