Drabble Batch 1 - JE/Jdrama
This is a new drabble batch number because these were written at a different period as the ones previous. These were in an email chain with sinonymity, anamuan and coffeeandice.
Ikuta Toma/Horikita Maki. AU where they are a indie rock duo living their dreams, 95 words.
Maki doesn't know what she's been doing before this moment--before this point when her and Toma are standing in front of an audience that actually know their songs and like them. She glances over at Toma who can't hide his smile in between lines and knows that they're sharing the same damn thought.
At the end of their set, Toma wraps an arm around her shoulder and squeezes and the smile on her face hurts so much, but she doesn't care, doesn't mind because this is their life and their music and what else matters?
Ninomiya Kazunari/Ishihara Satomi. Tangled AU, 53 words.
Satomi stands over the unconscious thief, her trusty pan in her hand. She wonders for a second how this man even entered and who he is and what the hell she should do right now, until she realizes he could answer so many questions.
She doesn't realize until later how right she was.
Tanaka Koki/Kamenashi Kazuya. Harry Potter AU, 85 words.
Kame stares at the other table and scowls, wondering how Koki can be hanging out with Hufflepuffs--okay, so it's only Nakamaru but still--when he himself is a Slytherin.
"It's hilarious when you get jealous," Ueda says, sitting beside him.
Kame feels the blush coming but he fights it off, shaking his head. "I just believe in house pride, that's all."
Ueda laughs. "Sure."
As though he knows they're talking about him, Koki looks up and waves at them, and it's almost enough to deflate Kame's anger. Almost.
Tegoshi Yuya/Masuda Takahisa. Detective Conan AU, 111 words
"You really do remind me of Tegoshi," Massu says every now and then, and Tegoshi has to swallow back his fear that Massu has somehow figured it out, has somehow discovered that through a case he has been reverted to 10-years-old again, but Massu only fiddles with Tegoshi's glasses and can't seem to hold back his sigh.
"You've talked about him a lot," Tegoshi manages to say.
Massu shrugs. "He's important to me."
Tegoshi's heart skips a beat. "I'd like to meet him someday." As he says it, he wants to hit himself because really he's the one who'll have to make that happen which obviously cannot.
Massu's smile is overwhelming. "I'd like that too."
Ohno Satoshi/Horikita Maki. Sherlock AU (first meeting?), 55 words.
"It's my father," Horikita Maki says as she sits before them, her hands folded in front of her.
Nino stares at her, "I hope you'll give me more than just that to go on."
Ohno coughs, elbowing Nino before gesturing for Maki to continue. Maki's grateful smile sticks with him even after the case is over.
Kuroki Meisa/Ninomiya Kazunari. Ninja AU, 51words.
The arrow comes scarily close to his head, but Nino knows he doesn't have to be worried; Meisa has even better aim than he does. He pulls the arrow out from the wall, tugging off the paper wrapped around it. "Tomorrow night. 9PM," it reads. Meisa is nothing if not direct.
Oguri Shun/Ishihara Satomi. Malt Shop AU, 194 words.
A smile comes easy to Satomi's face, Shun notices. Even the grumpiest of customers calm down at the sight of her lips curving into that perfect semi-circle, flash of perfect white teeth, before she asks them what of their amazing selection they'd want to choose. It doesn't matter how they felt before, all that matters is that she's smiling at them and cheerful and all her attention is on them at that moment.
Every time he goes to Horipro Malt Shop--which he's gone to a lot more than he'd like to admit to himself--Shun's always charmed by her. Which he probably shouldn't be thinking, or paying any attention to, when his girlfriend Yuu is sitting right next to him--her attention luckily preoccupied with the menu.
Shun watches as she leaves her current customer and glances around the floor, catching his eyes. Her smile seems to brighten somehow and the sight of it makes his heart stutter out of control. He wonders if he's tempting fate by constantly coming here, but then Satomi is walking over and greeting him with her cheerful "Oguri-kun! What would you like today?" and Shun doesn't know if he minds so much.
Matsumoto Jun/Kiritani Mirei. Models AU, 147 words.
Mirei hates Matsumoto Jun. Not because he's prettier than her--which seems to be the popular opinion for some awful reason--or because he wronged her in some way or because he stole her boyfriend (he didn't by the way; said ex did become Jun's friend, but nothing interfered with their relationship and she dumped him) or any other awful reason that the press has come up with.
No, she hates him because he is the image of perfection--his work ethic, his mannerisms, his face--which works well in their business, but is terrible with the rest of the other models, including her. She hates him because when they're in a shoot together, everyone's attention is always on him and never on her, no matter what she does.
But she doesn't hate him because while everyone's attention is on him, Jun's attention is always on her. And there's nothing she wants more.
Ninomiya Kazunari/Horikita Maki. Shinigami AU, 138 words.
They're a team, and while Nino knows that Maki dislikes what they do, he also knows that she would never balk on her--their--responsibility. "It just sucks," she tells him as they're given their next assignment, a 10-year-old girl who only has a year left. "We know they're dying and there's nothing we can do to help ease the transition."
Nino purses his lips, because he's been at this longer than she has, has seen much more suffering and had thought the same when it all started. He doesn't want to tell her that it'd be unfair. That if they did it for one, they'd have to do it for all and some of these souls were not worth the extra effort. Instead, he says, "I know."
But this is all before they meet 10-year-old Shimabukuro Satsuki who dreams of singing.
Ashiya Mizuki (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e). it's a girl's school instead, 60 words.
Mizuki is just glad that her idol is a female and her traveling to Japan to attend a girl's school doesn't have yet another thing piled onto it. After all, wouldn't it just be ridiculous if not only would she have to deal with traveling to an entirely different country, but having to go to a boy's school? Even stranger.
Kusano Akira/Kotani Nobuko/Kiritani Shuji (Nobuta wo Produce). Detectives AU, 212 words.
Shuuji thinks they're awful detectives--not because they don't complete their cases, because they do no matter what anyone says, but because they get their results in the most round-about, long-winded possible way. Like honestly, how does a case about infidelity lead to a discovery about one's self on ALL parties involved? And include two puppies, a chicken and parents galore?
He asks these things but he knows exactly how they happen.
Akira can never resist digging a little deeper when it comes to people--he needs to know how they tick, why they act the way they do and, for example, why a man that had been married for 10 years cheats on his wife on the day of their 10th anniversary. Nobuta can't help but want to solve people's problems, no matter how messed up they are. And as for himself, he's not immune to the ridiculousness because he's all about unraveling people's plots/secrets, anything and everything.
So really, no matter how hard they try to keep things simple, a case that could've, should've taken a week and a half to solve would take about a month. But honestly, Shuuji would never have it any other way, because at least the Nobuta Detective Agency can say that they'll take care of you, and mean it.
