I just finished reading chapter 19 and the epilogue and it was just as touching as ever.
At the end of chapter 19 I was just like "What? That can't be!!!" But the fact that Fei was willing to give up Mikhail to ensure that Mik will live a happy life wihtout those horrible memories just shows perfectly how deep his love for Mik runs! In my opinion giving up your own desires and dreams for the sake of your beloved one is the greatest love you can show! So in that way Fei proved that his feelings are quite as sincere as Mikhail's :)
When I've finished the epilogue I was at first a bit dissatisfied 'cause we don't know for sure if Mik will ever remember the "former" Fei he used to know before the whole incident. But (!) what's really loveable is the fact that Fei isn't just an important person he memorized like family but rather an "life-altering" aspect in his life. So (if I got it right) Fei isn't "just" a lover but rather became a part of Mikhail himself.
And yes, just as you've said it doesn't really matter how often Mikhail loses his memories he'll always search subconsciously for Fei which is a great assurance for us that they're going to stay together forever ;) So in the end I'm quite pleased with the ending you've chosen!
Well what's left to say is that you're one of an amazing writer and you should think about getting professional :)
Thank you sooooo much for doing all this work for such a long time and even more thanks for continuing with oneshots even though you've started with a new project!
Regards
Eleonora :)

It's good to see you here really! I'm happy to hear that you think these two chapters are still touching as ever. I have a feeling a lot of people are disappointed about the ending but I guess it couldn't be helped given what I've done to them. I'm quite incapable of writing a straightforward happy ending really as I don't believe in one. Happy ending 'ends' the story of life that should never end until they die. It's unsatisfying, but I think that is how life makes you want to keep going. And of course, it keeps the possibility of sequels opened for when I become a housewife with nothing else to do but write XD

I'm happy you picked up on that really. The point of CI was to make Fei grow and learn to love, moving away from his past and understanding what he wants in life. And this was one of the things that show that he has learned to love. Plus he has witnessed first hand what happens to Mikhail when he remembers. I think he too doesn't want to see it happen again.

If you ask me, he will eventually but the journey towards that end is an arc in itself XD Fei has become a part of him, but not only that. I think that Mikhail could lose his memory 100 times and the next morning he'd fall in love with Fei again another 100 times, doing exactly what he had done over and over again. Mikhail's attraction to Fei as far as this fic goes has never been formed out of a bond that grows after being someone for a long time like Yoh (who had no fascination in Fei at first). Mikhail loves Fei for how he thinks and react, for who he is and he doesn't need to be there with Fei for 7 years or more than a week to be shot in the heart by cupid's arrow. That is timeless to me. Moreover, everything that he has done for Fei came out of his personality, not just out of love. He is the kind of man who goes for what he wants without restraints. In a way, the ending is my way of showing that they belong together, even if the events in CI didn't exist.
Thanks again for your great support. I really need it right now especially when I am trying to write a book to see if I can work at professional standard. So far I'm not that confident and this has done much to help me keep going! *hugs*
