It's typical of her to do this, to visit faculty she haven't met before weeks after their arrival. But it's better late than never to introduce herself and welcome them to the high school that is Smash Academy.

One of the teachers she decided to meet is Smithy, known with the knowledge of Mechanics. She haven't seen him in person before, but is sure he's friendly like the majority of them. He must feel real guilty about the whole Mecha incident involving his students' projects and Smelter. Hopefully she can cheer him up some or just have a friendly chat with him, anything to keep him in good spirits.

She balled her hand to a fist and gently knocked on the door to his office, awaiting Smithy's response. She wouldn't be surprised if he's in his class teaching, but maybe that won't be the case today. She'll find out eventually.

Smithy was not expecting any visitors today. When did he ever? But he wasn't busy at the time, so he decided it was best to answer the door. Still always wearing that gruff demeanor, he walked across the room, and opened the door.

Well, this was a semi-familiar face. He had seen Rosalina before on numerous occasions, but had never actually spoken to her before. While it was his first instinct to just say 'What do you want?', he decided to instead say it nicer. Damn those kids, they were rubbing off on him.

"What can I do for you?"

Rosalina looked up to the tall robot and smiled. So this is Smithy, a robot with a beard and... what's this? A crown? Royalty perhaps? Who knows, but it seems like there's already some similarities between the two.

"Hello Smithy. My name is Rosalina, Sumabura's Planetary Science teacher. I've come to pay you a visit, if you are not busy."

"Planetary Science, y'say." Smithy never had much interest in that kind of subject, as he used to live in an alternate dimension linked by a giant sword, no less although he had heard of Rosalina's class and name in passing multiple times through other teachers and the students alike.

"Busy? Oh no, not anymore," he responded in his gruff voice. "Now that things are fixed after that mecha fiasco."

"Yes. Fortunately, no one was injured too badly." That night when Lumina was hit by the blast had pulled Rosalina through a loop. Because of the injury, she wasn't able to help Goose and Vashta fight the mecha and end its attack on the school. In fact, she flat out left the battle to tend to her child's wounds.

It could very well be a bad move on her part, but she can't control her motherly instincts. Her children are top priority over everything else when they are hurt... she doesn't want to lose any of them if it can be helped.

"Harrumph. At least it's over. If I was awake at the time, or even notified, I would have done something. Now I'm trying to figure out who started it, because someone messed with Smelter, the sentient being that creates morphable metal." He shook his head. "Someone had to have broken into my classroom to do that."

"Either way, where do you hail from?"

"The Comet Observatory above Earth's atmosphere. My childhood was spent in the Mushroom World, better known as the Mushroom Kingdom ruled by Princess Peach." she answered politely.

It's been a while since she last set foot there. It's been around three months ago when she made a quick visit to Peach's castle to see her and the Mario Bros. Amazing how a simple trip resulted in her teaching at a school in another planet.

That one caught Smithy's attention. "The Mushroom Kingdom... Mario's home." He seemed to be thinking quite a bit. "Yes, I have been there before as well..." Somehow, he didn't want to admit it, but damn it all if his pride would let him not admit it. "I used to be in another dimension, in which it and this dimension were linked by a large sword named Exor. I attempted to... thwart Mario's world. A while back."

His face was serious as ever. "Mario and I had a brawl in this school shortly after I joined. However afterward, things changed..."

Rosalina's expression remained the same as she listened to Smithy's reasoning behind him wanting to take over the Mushroom World and the eventual battle with Mario that occurred on school grounds. She did not know that either had happened, but the fact remains: The Mushroom Kingdom's enemy is standing right in front of her.

"Changed?" She questioned, not entirely sure what the robot meant. Perhaps it meant something positive, more rewarding. She will find out soon enough.

"Harrumph. More that I don't consider him my enemy anymore. I proved that I could defeat him by myself, if he was on his own, instead of two of his friends tagging along. With that, I had him down on the ground, I had my chance to finish him. Right then and right there, I could have done it." He pulled down on his beard, as if in thought.

"But oddly enough, I could not do what I would have done back then, had I won. I'm fully capable of fighting and doing what I want, why can I not kill a human? That thought lingered in my head for a while..."

"Violence doesn't solve problems, Smithy." She said to him, her voice a little stern. "Perhaps you've come to the realization of how valuable one's life is. It should not be taken away as selfishly as your ambitions."

Smithy could kill her off right here and there, but she remained firm, true to her words. She will never understand why some have the need for mindless destruction with total disregard for the safety of others and their home worlds. But one thing's for sure, she will do everything in her power to protect her friends and their freedom.
