April Fools Payback
Wow Karma is a bitch sometimes, i just got April Fooled, and I did it to myself.
So, had a really busy day today, went to fix some computers and take care of some stuff for a friend because I am moving to Austin this weekend. After wasting the earlier part of the day I thought I'd go finish some stuff at the office since yesterday was my last official day I still had stuff I didn't clear from my desk.
But DUH, no key and my boss had already left for the day. Bummer, so I decide to go cash my check and go to CompUSA to buy a external HD big enough to back up my ibook as I'm selling it and in need of a new compooter.
Wow, a great fucking deal at the local CompUSA, DUAL 2.0ghz G5 for 1299. I could not pass it up. I did not have enough cash right there on hand to buy it, and I had not been able to pick up my final check (the cashed check was my previous paycheck that I had not got around to cashing). So I tried calling my mom see if she could help me with her credit account to buy it. She told me she had closed the account, and she tried reopening but couldn't she'd have to go in person and reapply for the credit. Which she insisted she'd do, when I begged her not too.
Bummed and bugged that my mom was really going out of her way to help me I hovered around waiting for her to get back to me. So I'm waiting and in walks my boss to CompUSA, we talk and I tell him i'm just sitting around waiting to see how my moms credit apps goes cuz i'm trying to get that mac.
He tells me, "Shit, i'll just pay you in cash your last check and we'll go over there and get it done now".
Its times like this that you realize, all the things you do for people as favors, as an extra helping hand. Comes back to you with good will. Now I had my Mom and Boss helping me acquire this machine, and I just didn't know how to stop them from being far to kind to me.
So he paid the difference on the machine and on top of that he's giving me his old 20" cinema display.
So now i got this honking brand new dual G5 mini tower, and my Mom still opened up the credit at CompUSA (when I told her I bought the machine in cash, she was still happy that I got it and wants me to buy ram for it on the account, I don't think I want to do that, I was planning on paying it off in cash and have her close the account again, and I will do just that, last thing I want is anybody to be in debt).
So I finally got home about a hour ago and I setup the machine and I fired it up.
And the HD must be dead BECAUSE IT WILL NOT BOOT UP~!
I tried installing OS X and the Installer detects no HD. GAH~! I used up all my positive Karma points obtaining the machine only to be hit with a negative one, because it no worky.
And after all that trouble acquiring it too :( Sorry Mom, Sorry Boss, I gotz April Fooled by CompUSA.
GAR, shouldn't have done that Girly April fools thing :(
Now to take this sucker back and smack some CompUSA bone heads around.
