Non-hierarchal religious communities as a means to spiritual autonomy is something I've been considering for some time now, but there are so many reasons why I have been discourage to wander down this road. The ideal non-hierarchal religious community is one person who answers their own spiritual calls.

I think what I'm preparing to debate is the idea that a cooperative community with spiritual autonomy has greater value than it's parts.

all of this of course being dependant on the contract.

I think a look at what has worked well for and failed for both the rainbows and the burning man people would be a good start, as they've both managed, through either practical anarchay, or impresive levels of structure to bring together people of incredibly diverse thoughts with only a few binding ties into successfull communities (albeit for a short time) year after year.

of course, a little looking at the contract the founding fathers of the US put together, it's original intent, and what has happened to the great society they created can also help lend perspective.

Lots of research here. Lots and lots of research.
