Non-hierarchal religious communities as a means to spiritual autonomy is something I've been considering for some time now, but there are so many reasons why I have been discourage to wander down this road. It's no wonder, essentially I have attempted to hybrid a type of anarchist thought, autonomy through non-hierarchy, with religious thought and phenomena - historically the two have overwhelmingly rejected eachother.
First let's work on this idea of "spiritual autonomy". Autonomy is generally the idea of self-governence, but not necessarily separation or isolation. In a time when our society puts great value in individuation, self-identity and existentialist values, spiritual autonomy offers us the most access to the experience of the rapture of life.
