Rambling post leads to minor spoilers for part of Revenge of the Fallen. Read the second half at your own risk.
If and when my parents get a new car, I know they're going to go American - the whole Toyota brake recall's put them off foreign, though more accurately that should be Toyota even though we've had plenty of non-major-malfunctioning Toyotas in the past.
(Go human logic. Is it any wonder that Prowl freezes so much?)
Since it's coming out in California and we live there . . .
I'm going to suggest the Chevy Volt. It's appropriate size-wise (I think), it's fuel-efficient being an electric plug-in and all, and (in my opinion one of the better factors) it's the alt-form of Jolt. (Electro-whip-guy who did the parts transfer from Jetfire to Optimus in RotF; he's blue).
And speaking of which, what does all the Sideswipe/Jolt fic come from? I don't remember really seeing them interact with each other.
Then again, Sideswipe only has a few lines - even if they are all appropriately awesome and all - and I think Jolt only has the one.
Oh! And for those who haven't read the RotF novelization yet, there is a line that could explain why Optimus just sheds all of Jetfire's armor once he's done.
"I think you missed a seam, just below . . ." -Ironhide to ensemble (but mainly Ratchet and Jolt), right before Optimus goes all BAMF on the Fallen.
Plus, hey, field job. Maybe it wasn't meant to last all that long.
