Circus and Johnny's World
Well, April is almost here, which for me means two things... 1) the Circus is in town and 2) one more month till the semester from hell is over.
The Florida State University's Flying High Circus.... my other home. Spring shows are coming up fast with our opening show on April 1. It's a great show this year. The theme is Around the World, and each act is given a specific country. The audience will "travel" to Spain, Mexico, India, the Middle East, Japan, China, and more. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get an act this year, so instead, I'm working behind-the-scenes.
Yes, there is going to be a few Johnny's references in here. First, i seriously can't watch any circus without thinking of KAT-TUN's Akanishi Jin, Taguchi Junnosuke, and Nakamaru Yuichi. In episode 108 of Cartoon KAT-TUN Akanishi, Taguchi, and Nakamaru, accompanied by Yanagihara Kanako, were sent to a circus. There they were split into two teams; Akanishi and Nakamaru, and Taguchi and Yanagihara; and were given tasks. The Akanishi-Nakamaru team had to be able to swing on a Trapeze bar as if they were going to perform a Flying Trapeze act while the Taguchi-Yanagihara team learned the Tight Wire. So now, every time I see our Tight Wire and Flying Trapeze acts, this episode always comes to mind.
Two other acts that always bring Johnny's are our Spanish Web and Skating acts. Skating will always bring Kis-My-Ft2 to mind. I love watching them perform on skates. I find it very unique, and many times I want to join them. For Spanish Web, I think of the junior group, ABC-Z. They performed some Spanish Web at the beginning of KAT-TUN's Queen of Pirates concert, and that totally made my day.
And finally Happy Birthday to Takaki Yuya from Hey! Say! JUMP (1990.03.26)
