The Circus and the Cold are in town.

So, the FSU Flying High Circus opened shows last weekend. They went very well. Unfortunately, I don't have an act this year, but I still helping out with tickets, spotlights, and a few other odd jobs here and there. Last weekend we had three shows; one Friday and two Saturday. This past weekend we have four; one on Friday, two Saturday, and one Sunday. Unfortunately I'm sick.... which sucks even more because this weekend was our long weekend with the circus. Saturday was pure hell. It was hot and humid all day which made the inside of the tent an oven. On top of that, I had to work spot lights and it's HOT up there with those lights. Other than that, the shows went very well.. Then our third and final weekend is the same as the first weekend. Lots of work, but so much fun.

This year's theme is very cool. It's Around the World. Each act has an assigned country, so it's pretty neat. The acts and their country are as follows (in order):
  • Acrobatic Jump Rope -- Brazil
  • Swinging Trapeze -- Japan
  • Tight Wire -- Spain
  • Juggling -- Morocco
  • Quartet Adagion -- Senegal
  • Cradle -- Greece
  • Slack Rope -- Mexico
  • Teeter Board -- Russia
  • Spanish Web and Lyra (hoop) -- India
  • Balancing and Chinese Pole -- China
------Intermission-------
  • Trampoline Casting -- Germany
  • Double Trapeze and Triple Trapeze -- Argentina
  • Russian Bar -- Scotland
  • Mexican Cloud Swing -- France
  • Unicycle Adagio and Skating -- Polynesia
  • Flying Trapeze -- Native American
