Holding my tongue...

If only (God help us all) I could say the first thing that comes to my mind in front of customers.

Last night I was ringing up a man, and finishing putting his books into a bag, when he said to me, "Oh, am I supposed to tell you if I want something wrapped?"

What I wanted to say: "No, you dumbass, I'm just going to read your mind."

What I said: "Well, that might help me a bit, hehehe." *smiled as if I was joking*

...

Other than such random incidents of idiocy, work has continued to be good lately. Yesterday I found out.. drumroll please... I am my Borders' Employee of the Month!

How I found out: I was talking to Alissa in the office, when Eileen (my GM) passed. She said, "Kaitlin, do you know who the employee of the month is?"

That kinda gave me a hint, but I said, "No.."

She replied, "You! Congratulations, it's well-deserved."

Yay. :D

She gave me a $25 gift card today, and I am given to believe that I will be going out to dinner with her, courtesy of Borders' expense account. Mmmm free food.

But, all in all, it was kinda anti-climactic. It would've felt more important if Eileen'd told me in private, not just as a passing comment. Ah well. My name is on the whiteboard. Remind me to bring a camera tomorrow to photograph the beauty of it.

Worked on 3 pylons today. Took a cartload of books off them. Yucky sweep.
