I haven't updated in a while, I've just been reading my friends page occasionally. I had a pretty good Mod Break, I must say...on Friday I had Shakespeare rehearsal, then went to get pics taken at Sears Portrait Studio w/ Saila and Walter (weird idea but actually really fun...except for the fact that I'm very unphotogenic), then we went to Culinary Delights (Russian store) to buy Kinder Eggs (v. fun + yummy). We watched White Chicks, which sucked as a film (no surprise there) but was actually pretty funny. My mom was at her 50th b-day party w/Finnwomen, which took place at Walter's mom's house. I was really tired when i got home but I couldn't sleep b/c of the storm so I stayed up until about 1 o'clock watching What Not to Wear. I got myself a drink of water, but when I tried to turn the t.v. back on, I heard a loud "pop", which is never a good sign with appliances. I turned the t.v. off and fell asleep on the couch. Now the t.v. doesn't work! Sigh...now we must watch the little one. What a deprived (not) child I am.
Saturday morning I had Shakespeare again, but I totally forget what happened during the day. Yes, the dementia is slowly creeping up on me...oh, at night I looked through old pictures and made a scrap-box for my mom (early-ish Mother's Day gift) which was basically the story of her life, focusing on how she is a wonderful mother and person in general and so on and so forth. Funny pictures of my sis and I as babies, plus scary ones of my parents in the 70's.
Sunday I didn't have Shakespeare, but it was Mother's Day so I made b-fast for my mom (w/the help of my sister b/c she knows how to make coffee as I do not) and us three girls went for a walk around the lake. 4, if you count Milly, my doggy.
Monday I had awful allergy throat syndrome (and still do), plus I had Shakespeare (much more pleasant than allergies) AGAIN (totalling 12 hours for the whole mod break, average of 1.3 donuts each day I rehearsed--getting better!), and I went shopping w/my mom afterwards at the Atrium Mall. The sales lady at Anthropology was clearly just trying to help, but she kept telling me I probably needed to go up a size, and how things were flattering because they were so SLIMMING, and how I should try the black because it is so SLIMMING, etc., etc. Of course this gave me the overwhelming desire to be SLIMMED and to SLIM myself, which is not a fun feeling when you're shopping. I ended up getting a v. fun skirt, an awesome black top (v. "slimming" indeed), plus a dress for the boat dance which at first I was going to return because it wasn't SLIMMING enough (even though the sales lady had repeated that the dress was very VERY SLIMMING), but when I tried it on at home I realized that it is beautiful and quite the find so I am keeping it.
Anyway, today is Tuesday and the start of Mod 7! My classes are: A.) Spanish III; B.) Pocket Players; C.) Myths and Patterns; D.) Shakespeare Ensemble
Also, new Mod means TASKS!!!!!!! This is a form of INTENSE character work devised by Rachel Hirsch. Each person gets a typed slip of paper with a thing that they need to do for character study. They're not allowed to tell ANYONE what their task is, even after, with the exception of the next year in Shakespeare and even then only to their fellow Shakespearians. The task could be anything from acting a certain way to trying to avoid a specific person to changing your physical appearance. So those are tasks.
Well, that pretty much covers everything! Off to do M + P homework. <3, Izzy;)
P.S. COME AUDITION FOR P.A.D.D.!!!!!!! That stands for: Playwrights Actors Designers and Directors workshop. There are currently 6 student written and directed plays (from about 2 pages to 10 pages) available for anyone to audition for. I'm directing one that will be fun fun fun! Group auditions are: Wednesday (tomorrow) at lunch and at second open block, as well as Thursday at Lunch. All in the Moir theater, no experience required! I will probably have all of my rehearsals during open blocks and lunches, although I don't know about the other directors. Please come!
