I had such high hopes for my Italian Diction class at the beginning of the semester. Now, I'm just pissed.

Not at the students, mind you, at myself.

You have identified the area that you want to change. Next, pick strategies that enable you to make the change.
Situations:
People prevent you from being on time or from getting your work done. Tell me/them. “I will be late if I don’t work on this now. Can we talk later or is this an emergency?”

Time is short. Set a timer for the time that you must leave the house minus five or ten minutes. Use the 5 or 10 for last minute needs: putting on coat, starting car, etc.

Work ahead. Sometimes you catch cold; someone does have an emergency; you just can’t seem to get going at the time. It is good to have something done, even if not to the standard that you desire.

These are things that I have told myself when I have wanted to manage my time better.
Setting the timer has helped. I still need to work on the other ideas.

You are critical of your teaching. Thinking about it should guarantee that you will teach e.g. seven years but not one year seven times. So keep up the good work and keep on caring.

Mrs. Petersen saw the Four Tenors on Oprah the other day and said they were just like you. All tall, handsome, excellent singers. Don’t you love it?

Thanks for the encouragement. I do know what to do, but I have to be more courageous about implementing them.
