The Origin of Love
You know those stripey polo shirts I have? I just got another. Jules needed to go to Target, so despite it being Black Friday, I joined. The goal was to find pants, and perhaps get AA batteries, soup, and toilet paper as well. Success with the batteries, soup (both chicken noodle and Ramen), toilet paper. Also got some mac and cheese, becuase it's 62 cents at target and five times that at the school market place. Did not succeed with pants, which is unfortunate - I really need more, and this means another trip somewhere. Ew. However, I combed the clearance rack and found another stripey polo shirt (tannish this time) that said $4.89, but rang up at $2.48. I'm super pleased with that purchase. I also found a black crew sweater that fit me really well and got that too. I'm hesitant to wear sweaters around here, because the bio department is so ridiculously warm, but this one's pretty light weight so it should work well. Plus it looks nice.
Hung out with Jules and Beth last night after Thanksgiving. We watched Hedwig and the Angry Inch - awesome movie that I'd wanted to see for a long time - and Thank You for Smoking - another movie I'd been wanting to see, and which lived up to expectations. Awhile ago I was talking to Carl about Hedwig, related to this post, and he found some videos on youtube of people signing the song The Origin of Love. One is in ASL and one is in BSL. The BSL is my favorite, becuase although I can't understand some of the BSL signs, I like the descriptions and visual imagery much better.

The snow is still kind of here. I don't think it's snowed since Thanksgiving morning (was that only just yesterday?), but there is still snow clinging to the dirt, and when I hiked across the field last night and this morning to go to Jules', the grass was snowy. It's warming up though, so I doubt it'll stick around much longer. It was certainly pretty yesterday though.
It's a little odd being here in the apartment all alone, but quite nice so far. I'm not lonely yet, not that I've been here alone a great deal so far. I should go make some food, since all I've had today has been a chocolate chip banana muffin and lemonade from Brewberry's.
