I'm probably going to doze off at my desk at some point this week, purely due to lack of sleep...but it was worth it.
We had a rather sizeable gathering of people at my place on Saturday night - more than I had originally intended I think, but it turns out that I've got a lot more space than I gave the house credit for. Perhaps next time I won't try to prune the guest list as much as I did - since I left off at least 5-10 people I could have invited if I'd believed it wouldn't make the property burst at the seams. (Would that all my worries were as simple as being blessed with an over-abundance of wonderful friends!)
I think everyone had fun. (I didn't hear any complaints!) I wasn't as socially circulating as usual, contenting myself to chat with a smaller group for a change, but there appeared to be a good time going on about me.
I certainly had a good evening. How could I complain about a night that results in being turned to a pile of goo by two hot blondes, an adorable brunette and two of my favorite lesbians? >:)
Of course I stayed up far too late - probably made possible by avoiding the alcohol. (Yes, I know that's bizarre for me...but I apparently didn't exhibit any oddly restrained behavior to give away my sobriety. I did reconfirm for myself that I have no...daring...when sober however, and I continue to be a complete chicken about pursuing certain interests. Anyone who can suggest non-alcoholic resolve-stiffening agents would be welcome to enlighten me.)
And I woke up far earlier than intended on Sunday as well - so I should be skating on the ice of sleep dep in a day or so...but it was worth it.
The sleep dep will be enhanced by having stayed up past my bedtime last night as well in order to go to a later evening showing of SW:RotS. It was also worth it.
I'm not going to deal with spoilers, because I hate (repeat: HATE) when people give me unwanted info (yeah for spoiler marked cut tags! love to all who employ them!)...but I will say that I now need to see the entire 6 films, in story chronology order (Episodes 1-6), at some point to decide which one I liked best. I suspect this one is going to come out near the top.
There were some spots that felt a bit contrived (Anakin's final fall to the dark side felt a bit abrupt)...but in all, I thought it was pretty amazing and a powerful end to the saga.
I also finished my outfit for Baycon yesterday - except for a couple of tweaks to ensure that I don't have free-range boobie issues. And the wig shipped so it should get to me in time. And I have my outfit planned for Saturday night parties too...now I just need to figure out what I want to wear to Friday night parties and I'm set. I plan to have a fabulous time with
redminx this weekend.
So now it's back to work. I've been sufficiently productive the last week or so that I need to go through my "to-do" list and figure out where I am on projects...
Off to the land of Powerpoint presentations and corporate productivity for me!
