Visitors!! Not the alien kind...

So I had a great November.  Kristi and Rick came to visit the weekend of the 5th and we got to go all over Boston.  They came in on a Friday and Kristi and I got the awesome Chinese food.  Then on Saturday we went to Fanueil Hal and Quincy Market to get clam chowder in a bread bowl from the Walrus and the Carpenter Clam Bar and we also had these awesome mussels.  Then we walked around the shops at government center and then went down to the gardens so Kristi could finally see the ducks and we headed over to the commons where Rick got these awesome roasted almonds.  We happened upon some people practicing Quidditch in the park and stayed to watch for a bit.  Then we went to Copley and I took them to the awesome candy store and then anthropology and then we spent a few hours at the 3 floor mac store playing on iPads (diner dash and plants vs. zombies).  Afterward, I took them to the prudential center where we walked around and shopped around through the whole place and Copley place too and i was introduced to Teavana which is the mecca for tea and Kristi and i looked at some jewelry.  We ate at the cheesecake factory there and then I think that was it.  We watched some tv in their hotel room.

On Sunday we went to the aquarium which was oodles of fun.  We spent a bunch of time there.  I thought it was funny because we ate at legal seafood before we went.  We had this really cool appetizer and clam chowder and lobster bisque and then pasta.  After the aquarium we spent some time with Rick's family and they have this great fluffy cloud of a a dog.  I want one.

On Monday, Rick flew out, but Kristi stayed an extra day.  They went shopping while i was at my placement and then I met up with Kristi at my house where we went across the street and ate frozen yogurt at the awesome Mixx It frozen yogurt place that is literally down the street.  They didn't have my cookies and cream since they changed the flavors so i had cheesecake and Kristi got lychee!  It actually tasted REALLY good.  Like actual lychee.  To top it off (ha, pun), there was actual lychee and lungan in the fruit part of the topping bar!!  They tasted so good.  MMmmm.  I love that place because they have this wide selection of flavors that they change regularly so there's always something new, a huge variety of fruit toppings, a great selection of candy toppings, and even a section of cereal toppings!  Also, their spoons are cool colors and it's not crazy expensive.  The colors and design of the place is also cool.  Then we went back to my house and watched the end of mortal kombat (i forgot how awesomely bad that movie was) and were really cold so we were snuggled in my bed and started to fall asleep and thought it was really late but it was only 6 so we said we had to get up and do something because we weren't old people.  So Kristi made a great suggestion and we went back to the Chinese place and had a great soup night (Wonton, egg drop, and juk) while we watched movies.  Best. Idea. Ever.  I know we watched Aeon Flux and i think there was something else.  We also read a bit.

Tuesday Kristi went home so she met me after my first class and i took her to noodle street where we had more soup and some awesome fried ice cream.  It was a hit.  Then i went to class and took Kristi to the airport and that was our weekend!

SSDD

p.s.  The crazy thing about the day Kristi and Rick came in was that both their flights got in about 1/2 an hour early.  I've never had a flight come in early.  It's unheard of.
