after a vacation

So i took a little break from watching the olympics.  I was super dedicated and then i just stopped because i needed to do work.  So i watched some women's giant slalom.  Interesting.  I heard Lindsey Vonn crashed.  Now i want to know what happened.

I think i've said it about a lot of winter olympics sports before, about me calling them suicidal and crazy, but that was before i saw aerial jumping.  Aerial jumping takes the crazy cake.  I was just flabbergasted.  Seriously flabbergasted.  They go on this ramp that pretty much sends them vertical at 40 mph and then they're expected to do a million spins and flips and LAND on SKIS.  So, of course, just to prove my "this is crazy whack" theory, the first ever aerial jump i see, the guy lands and then smacks his back on the snow so hard that he snaps back up to a standing position.  Unreal.  There's this guy from the US named Jeret Peterson that does this thing called the hurricane.  It's kinda cool not only because it's named after the Florida mascot but because he spins like a crazy person.  The Chinese guy that was in first had such a technically awesome landing.  It was very like a gymnast landing: solid and he just stuck it.  He even did the salute thing at the end that boy gymnasts do.

Figure skating...still not interesting.  Unless they fall.  Then it's like, "tssss...ooooo that hurt."  Is it just me or are the costumes for figure skating getting prettier but also shorter, with less fabric, and...well...sluttier?

In other NOT OLYMPIC news, it's been raining here.  A lot.  So much, in fact, that i kinda wish it was snowing instead because snow never makes me feel this yucky especially since it's kinda cold.  Cold rain sucks.  Then, on top of that, it's windy like a bitch.  So windy that the rain is slashing sideways.  So we have cold pouring rain coupled with slashy windiness.  Not great.  If i didn't have a super awesome umbrella, it would have flipped inside out so hard.  As it is, the wind is so strong that it starts closing my umbrella when i put it into the wind.  Crazy.

US got 1 and 2 in nordic combined.  Yay.  I'm hungry.
