interesting facts brought to you by me
i can never go very long without making a list of random facts:
- to be in the movie A League of Their Own, all the actresses had to prove they could play baseball. They all did their own stunts and none of them wanted stunt doubles so all injuries you see in the film are real. You know that huge bruise that Alice Gaspers gets when she slides into a base? The one Jimmy Dugan takes a picture of? That bruise took a year to fade away.
- there are such things as pink grasshoppers and pink iguanas.
- there is a fish called the giant snakehead that will eat pretty much anything. It's native to southeast asia and it has been known to kill people. It can grow to be 3 feet long and 44 lbs and it has all these crazy looking teeth. It can also crawl on land and survive up to 4 days out of the water. Gets even better. There have been sightings of them in the US, Florida included. Picture?
- research shows that prelingually deaf people (people born deaf or who lost their hearing early on) have no interior monologue. They literally don't hear themselves thinking. I thought this was crazy. I was so thrown.
- you can't wrap your hand around your elbow and make your fingers meet...and I bet you just tried it because i wrote that.
- not eating meat for 2 days of the week reduces your CO2 emissions by 13.2 pounds
- not really a fact, but a general observation from life: any food that's "pizza flavored" will taste amazing. It might not even taste like pizza, but it will still taste awesome.
- Julie Andrews will always have a soft spot in my heart because she's so amazing. When i hear Julie Andrews sing, even now, i'm totally blown away. I think she's one of the most amazing people to ever have lived.
- Ecdysiast is a profession...it's a stripper.
