Piece of the universe
So, kaigex and I nearly got clonked by a shooting star tonight. Okay, not really, but I've never seen one this close, and I've seen tons of meteor showers. It was a large flare, like a spark peeled from a firework. It appeared to be falling several blocks away, though it's hard to gauge distance with these kinds of things. I wonder if anything hit the ground. Some secret part of me wanted to catch it.
Granted, for a second I expected to see a mushroom cloud blossoming over the neighborhood where it went down.
It feels like a good omen now. How often do people see these things coming down up close? It was a first for me.
