Drabble Rules

Oct 22, 2006 20:11

Hey, all.

It seems that we like the weekly drabble theme idea. I'm going to post one right now, but from now on I'll be updating on Fridays. You have one week to write a drabble (less than 1000 words) of anything that springs to your mind when you read the theme. Themes may be a single word, a phrase, a starting sentence, or just about anything else to get your fingers typing; they may also have rules, such as "you are not allowed to use the word 'the'" or whatever else floats your boat.

If you would like to suggest a theme, please post your idea in a comment to this post. I'll then post your theme on the following Friday (unless for some reason I don't, in which case I'll let you know). Themes should be K or K+ rated so that anyone can write for them, but the the drabbles themselves can be any rating. (If you have a theme that is higher rated than this that you really want to suggest, let me know. We'll discuss it.)

You do not need to reply to the current week's theme if you would rather do an older one (or you could do both -- I don't care). For example, if you just joined the community, and would rather do the theme for this post instead of the current one, go right ahead.

Post your drabbles to the community using the following format (if there are rules for the theme, you do not need to reproduce all the rules -- just give the gist):
Title:
Theme:
Teaser:*
Rating:
Warnings:*
Author's Comments:*
LJ-cut or link:
* optional or only as required)

The first theme will be time. Have fun!
