Of time,life and football........
How many times does a man have to feel sick at heart at the end of a day full of work, work and only work?...All work and no play does make Jack a dull kid.The complications of today's way of leading the life dry our throats out and evacuate our exuberance. Why is it that work should always give us a feeling of monotony and grimness, whereas on the other hand, play is something everyone enjoys. I have recently been trying to get the relation between work and play..though i was looking for an equation of some sort, i ended up filing the trash by my side. but off-late, i just have been getting a feeling that life, and work , can be compared to the passionate game of football.I have a great passion for this beautiful game. Putting it more sanelessly, i can literally eat sleep n drink anythin football.Once you look deep into your own daily life and work culture [ i know it could make you feel dizzy:>] , ou find that most of you people either have a vague idea of what your ultimate aim is, or a few skeptical ones tossing themselves between the fun and work columns. But the major proportion always like to go with the flow. Now look at me . I am an engineering student. Four years into a 24x7 drive that would in the end me up with some turning point or crossroads . Its wisely and truly pointed out by some nutcracker that one's got to work hard to get a good result in the end. But in the long run, perseverence is one thing that fades off the track, gradually pulling us out of it too. Now all this blah blah you people know yourselves. What's to be noticed is that when one is asked to do some work for 10 days , one might accept it factually. but if some stiff hard work is required in the middle, one gets sultry and stops thinking rationally. He feels that he is stressed and taxed...
Now you might be wondering whats this got to do with football.. now this is where the work and play symbiosis comes into picture. In the real world football, the way life goes is as follows. A small player joins a club on a ime based contract which runs solely on his display of talents. He trains daily for fitness. He undergoes vigorous training to enhance and exploit himself. The subtle thing to notice here is that he does his with fun. He takes up the adventure and loves what he does... there is no getting bored of anything
in this case..at the same time, the player grows. He increases in value. Then he gets transferred to a better club where he continues his quest. On the other hand when you look at our lives, we are also given training and in various measures.but the acceptibility, the reception we give it is not one of love and care, but of disgust and dislike. I don't blame anyone. But this is the actual difference between work and play.
Work tires you out. You seem to get only material pleasure from it. But play is not all the same. You seem to get fun and joy out of it. you don't mind training for that pleasure daily. Is it one's attitude or the academic discrimination of work and play that stirs this soup. If one could take the daily work as a way of fun, will this be sorted out? Or is it the amount of work?...what do workaholics care for?..
The game of football sees a team prepare for a cup right from the start and keep developing in due course.Ad at last when they win it, the glory, the feeling of ecstacy, the success is beyond aeons ...
isn't it? Then there is the league football, where games are played through out a year in the form of a season, and teams have their ups and downs , in the end on emerges out. The team which had determination, which had training and fun at the same time, the team which proved their mettle. Every time a point comes in a season called slumber hurdles. Every team has to face them. And the one emerging out, wins the league. They are small decider coins. Then there are darby games where historical rivalry is savoured. And we have do or die matches, record runs and much more.
All these, in fact, each of these can be shown as the parts of our daily lives...The hurdles are the tests. Then the records and crucial times, and then the glory. Last but not the least there is the reward. Happiness through success..Can't we make our lives like these ones?I hope a day will come when people
realise the value of work. The attitude changes and the iron curtain between work and play gets ripped....
And...thanks for patient reading... In the end you might feel dumber than you were when reading the first word. Its commitable. So don't mind the lack of sense in the writing if you are among those who think all this is cloud nine horse sh@#...oops!
I shall be back with more...more of such wierd things.. You are welcome to post a reply.
