Crap singing, fic rec and meta
I had an audition for a Saturday Night Fever concert yesterday. It's just a small local production, but as a singer, I obviously want to do well whenever I'm asked to preform.
I sucked ass.
I was late, and as a result, I was somewhat out of breath. You need a lot of breath when you are singing, so even though I'm not out of shape enough that I keep panting for ages after running (I catch my breath rather quickly, actually, which I've heard is a good sign), I didn't have time to calm down enough to do my best. The songs were kind of odd to sing, given that they were originally written for male falsetto, and the mic they gave me to use made me sound horrible - not sure if it was me or it, though my money would be on the former. All in all, yay me! :p
So they will be "calling me back." In other news, all you Red Dwarf fans should check out my friend smaych's drabble here: Frustration - because it is excellent, and deserves attention.
Oh, and I'm working on changing my layout colors, which is why they look odd at the moment. It's a work in progress.
Finally, I've been reading through the books I read in 2005, and I am so doing 50bookchallenge again next year.
