An oddly pleasant day

A great day! May there be many more like unto them--*many* more.

If I may flourish a little pedantry? "Hibernate" is what one does during "l'Hiver", (Winter, in modern French); "Estivate" is what one does to avoid the Summer ("l'Ete' ", in modern French, which has chucked out pretty much all the "s" before "t" that it can).

Yeah, I know. But I like the word hibernate better, which is why I put "" around it. It gives me the feeling of rolling up and staying put like a bear or other furry mammal which is often quietly active during that period (caring for its newborn young, etc.). Somehow to me the word estivate causes me to envision snails sealed in hard shells and frogs sealed in hardened mud: those cold-blooded creatures which simply seal themselves away in a coffin-like manner and accomplish nothing.

Hee hee, I'd rather 'hibernate.'
