He can't help it. After all their hard work, the sleepless nights, the countless hours in voice training and dance practice, this makes it all worthwhile. He's actually doing something meaningful. He's actually touching people's lives.
"People actually like us," he sobs into Minho's shoulder, or, "Are you sure they didn't make a mistake?"
Because it surprises him. Every time.
Kibum buries his face in the flowers he's holding. Jinki's voice sounds like he's struggling not to laugh, or cry, or a combination of both. He gets passed from one Super Junior member to the next. He's handed tissues by people he's never before seen. Taemin wraps his arms around his waist. Minho holds him up by the shoulders, pressing the trophy into his hands. All he can say is thank you, thank you, thank you so much over and over again. And then they are all together, holding onto him, Kibum crying and Jinki pretending not to cry and Taemin smiling and Minho trying to hold everyone together.
Backstage, Kibum holds his hand and Jinki hugs him and Taemin rubs his back and Minho lets him cry into his shirt.
"This is the reason-" he begins, but his voice is choked by sobs. "You guys-"
Because he really can't believe it. Because in all his nineteen years on the planet, he never imagined anything like this. Because if these are his dreams coming true, he really can't help it if he can't control his emotions. So Jonghyun cries every time.
