Kikon necklace - ordering difficulties

Sep 14, 2011 07:54

As you may have seen, the white version has sold out. If you ordered one while they were still available and have not yet received a confirmation email, your order was probably cancelled.

I enquired about this and they told me there had been some delay in updating the site to take the product down, so my order for it wasn't placed.
Also, I ordered ( Read more... )

Again - I updated my own post about this, but I suspect a lot of people don't have any reason to go back and look at it - according to an update to the Japanese site, they were simply overwhelmed with the number of orders and have decided to limit the number of necklaces produced for the time being. They may do a third run of the white necklaces, if they "become able."

So if you did happen to miss out due to technical difficulties, just send shiki shop a polite email saying that you would love the opportunity to buy a white necklace in the future. I'm sure that will encourage them to do another production run :)

Do you think they might do a waiting list? Seems the white one is suuuuper popular o_o

I suspect it'll be another "wait until we get 100 orders" thing, if they do it again. So maybe not a waiting list, but there should be plenty of time to get your order in as long as you're on top of things...

I'm not too worried. I jumped on that order page faster than a fat kid on a chocolate cake lol. I know how much it pays to be "on top of things" |D It's really make it or break it in J-fandom >>;

But they'll be offering again later, right? I thought they just needed 100 orders right now to get the production going? Maybe they're having some semantic hiccups :/

I ordered literally the day it was announced haha but tho I got order confirmation, I still have not yet been invoiced.

I hope you're able to place the order again! <3

Semantic hiccups indeed lol. The Japanese said something along the lines of "when we've gathered 100 orders we can begin production" so it didn't sound limited. But then they updated the site saying that they'd received a lot more orders than they expected, so they are limiting the number of orders so they can keep up with production.

So my impression is that 100 is the minimum number of orders they need in order to put their own order for production into the company that is actually making them. But the company must be small, since they aren't prepared to mass produce them.

Somehow that seems very Isshi. Everything is made with love *sappy*

Yeah, I agree, I think it's not a matter of if but when. Good news, I suppose for those who missed this order window. (Hopefully?)

I really do hope they do another run - I really want one of each, but due to personal reasons that are out of my control, there was no way I could order this time around. ;-; Not having a credit card really sucks sometimes.

Couldn't you get one of those pre-made/prepaid whatever kind of credit cards? I'm pretty sure it works on Paypal... It's pretty much like a gift certificate. ^^ Without the contract.

It's not about having a method to pay as much as having a method to pay that gives me a little flex room in how I pay. I'm on disability and live pretty much hand-to-mouth. If I know about something like this a couple months in advance, I might be able to budget for it. A credit card would let me order on short notice and shift the budgeting to after. Unfortunately for me, my credit got hosed by a simply lovely ex and fixing it is beyond my reach right now (some of the fees on those cards are ridiculous).

I ordered on Sep 9th, got my confirmation e-mail and right now I am waiting for my paypal invoice. Hilariously enough, I posted a duplicate order and I got both necklaces too but I asked them if I coul cancel it and they did. Maybe I should have kept it XD
