Mod Post: New rules on fanfiction.
It would seem fanfic posts have become more and more numerous on kagrra over the past couple of months, and I've received several comments/complaints on this subject. As it stands, regardless of my own personal opinions on the matter, I cannot justify the banning of fanfiction unless I also ban every other form of fan material out there. It simply wouldn't be fair. However, in the interest of making this community enjoyable for everybody (er... as much as humanly possible anyway), I will lay down a few simple rules on fanfiction starting today:
Now that these rules are established, any post in violation of them may be deleted without warning as per my discretion. If applicable, your post may of course be edited and reposted in adherence to the rules. (hint: if you find your post has disappeared, check your email. I always leave comments before I delete)
I hope this eases of the majority of the complaints I have received on the subject while still allowing fanfic authors to share their work and love for Kagrra with the community. If there are any questions, complaints, or further suggestions, feel free to comment. :)
- Fanfiction posted to kagrra must of course be relevant to Kagrra, defined as featuring one or more members of the band as the main focus of the story.
- Please make sure all fanfiction is labeled appropriately with at least a summary and a rating, and placed in its entirety behind an LJ cut. You may present the title, summary, etc 'above' the cut but the fanfic itself must be cut. No teaser paragraphs, short drabbles left uncut, or anything of that like. If you don't know how to use LJ cut, please refer to the LJ FAQ.
- If you are writing a fanfic in multiple parts or chapters, please do not post it to the community until the fanfic is entirely completed. Do not post only one chapter at a time. (No, exceptions will not be made for length. If the fanfic is too long to fit into a single post, you may provide a list of links to the chapters instead.)
- Absolutely no NC-17 (adult) fanfiction will be allowed on this community, whether it be linked or directly posted. kagrra is not a moderated, adult community and it should not be treated like one. However, G through PG13 "pairing" fanfiction is of course acceptable, as long as it is somehow marked as such.
