So, I went to the library again today. This time I got to talk to somebody who I could get to take the fees off of my card. I check out two books by Anne Lamott, Traveling Mercies and Plan B: Further Thoughts On Faith. I've only just started reading Traveling Mercies (44 pages in).
Yet, I am happy. I have finally started reading a new book this year. Perhaps I'll try to count the books I read this year. One summer or semester I had tried, but stopped around nine or ten books.
I have found a quote in the book that I really like, though. This was something that Bill Rankin had told Anne Lamott.
"I guess it's like discovering you're on the shelf of a pawnshop, dusty and forgotten and mabye not worth very much. But Jesus comes in and tells the pawnbroker, 'I'll take her place on the shelf. Let her go outside again.'"
