. . . And the Rabbits

Jun 30, 2014 12:51

I'm not exactly sure what age I was, but I became thrilled with stuffed toys of rabbits. I loved them. I still do love them, but I'm not so bound to them that I haven't been able to get rid of some to make room in my house. There was a time that I couldn't stand to get rid of any of them. These stuffed toy rabbits now sit on a bed frame where ( Read more... )

Have you ever heard of the rabbit island? I think it's in Japan somewhere. Sounds like your kind of place.

+ I think your paper might be friend's locked? or my computer is dumb. ^^

I've never heard of Rabbit Island.

My paper is friends locked. I wrote that in the entry.

However, since it sounds like you are willing to read/concrit, I added you as an LJ friend and I think you should be able to see it now.

Saw it on reddit and now I so want to go. Apparently it's been taken over by wild rabbits.

That's pretty cool! I had only known about the giant pink rabbit.

"Location of the giant pink bunny in Italy, near Artesina, almost due west of Genova and almost due south of Torino."

Little Peter Rabbit? Brer Rabbit?
Watership Down?
It could be that your totem is rabbit.

I had all those in the very first rough draft. However, if I included those, then the paper became too much of an explanatory paper.

Not sure what grad school you're at, or even which country.
So, not sure how that school differentiates between research and explanatory.
If you're busy with your paper, no need to explain. But if you have the time and inclination, I can always use some new knowledge

I'm at McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA, USA.

Explanatory is just basically saying, "This is" and "this is" and "this was done" which I had.

Now my paper is more "I see this as a trend" and "I think this is why" rather than pointing out all the trickster rabbits that have definitely existed.

I started with Bugs Bunny after my introduction (pretty obvious, but not really mentioned as a trickster rabbit) and moved into rabbits that are seen on screen and in video games and even online . . .

It's a completely new paper rather than a rehashing of what has been written. Yet, it is supported by what has been written (or I could argue against what has been written, too).

It does sound like rabbits were meant to go with you. Good luck with the paper!

I never thought about a rabbit totem. I'm not much for believing in that type of stuff, but it is interesting. Only small parts of it seemed correct for me.

Thanks, I think I'll do okay with the paper as long as I actually finish editing it! I'm almost done, but there are just a few more edits I need to do and then proofread it again.

Oh, I don't know anything about totems -- that was in response to your entry; I didn't even read the other comments until just now. I thought, because they kept showing up and being noticed, that perhaps it was a thing. Like my aunt has butterflies -- she decorated her dining room with butterflies, and then after a death in her extended family (not on my side) she had two or three butterflies show up in her garden all of a sudden. It was pretty random but nice, and now she looks for butterflies everywhere. :) So rabbits seem to be your version of her butterflies.

I've heard that seeing butterflies after the death of loved ones is a good sign. I saw one in a place after my Daddy has passed away. I think I get anoles more than butterflies.

It is interesting to me that the rabbits seem to have kept showing, but they seem to come and go, other than owning the toys.

I have quite a few things that I have finally seen. Who knows if this is where the rabbits led or if there will be more.

Rabbits are cute. I just don't want one as a pet. I don't want to have to clean its cage. I'll take a dog. I can train it to go outside.

We ended up with a rabbit once for a brief time. The border collie loved herding her. My Father-in-law keeps trying to give us a rabbit for the kids. I have flatly refused. They are cute, but I will be the one caring for it. No thanks.

I think my dogs would not be too keen on having a rabbit in the house. I don't want one, anyway. However, with a chihuahua, a mutt that has terrier and chihuahua and a dog that is a or at least has some jack russell in him, theres no way a rabbit would survive in this house.
