Why do the Lake Charles buses suck so much???

My Wednesday was not a good Wednesday. I awoke and I had my school things ready. However, as I got ready in the morning, I started looking for my keys in the usual place I would put them and I coudln't find them. This didn't make sense since I had them on Tuesday night. I decided that I should get to school rather than trying to locate my keys since I had a few singles which meant I could ride the bus, so I opted to ride the bus to school.

I had a key that would open the doors and trunk of my car. It wouldn't start the engine, though. I was able to get my transport chair out of the trunk and take it down to the nearest bus stop.

I wasn't sure how long I waited, but I know that in general, the bus comes once every hour for certain. There aren't set times. My first class is at 10:10. That would mean that I wouldn't be sure if I'd get to class in time if I got to the bus at 9:10 and would definitely get to school early if I got to the bus at 8:10. It was probably 9:10 or 9:20 when I got to the bus stop, though.

The bus that came was terrible. It was a much older bus and the shocks on it were the worst. At every stop and every turn and every little bump in the road, the entire bus bounced up and down. The good thing was the bus driver was nice. She let me know that if I had wanted to go straight to the college without any transfers, I should've went to the bus stop across Ryan St. However, that would've required going across a busy streets and I don't know how well that would've worked in the morning when people are trying to get to work and I know the light at the end of our street tends to stay red forever if you want to turn from our street (it's the only thing you can do in a car - so right is okay since you can turn right on red if it is clear, but left is terrible) and walking or biking to go across is a hassle, too.

Anyway, we got to the bus station and my back was sore. I wasn't happy, but I made the transfer. Thankfully the second bus was better.

I got to class just a few minutes late, even walking in an answering a question that had been asked about the reading just as I walked into the classroom.

A classmate from my American Literature class offered to give me a ride home so I didn't have to ride the bus back home and deal with the bumpy shocks. Obviously, I've found out that dealing with the buses is not a good thing since I never know what bus is going to come (they just change the heading on the lights for whichever bus is being driven on that route since the route is indicated with the lights that create words on the bus).

My last class on Mondays and Wednesdays is on the third floor of Kaufman. I get out and I go to the elevator. I pushed the button and the elevator didn't come, but I heard voices. I thought somebody was in the elevator, so I pushed the button again and the elevator doors didn't open. I gave a slight kick on the elevator doors because I thought that somebody was standing in the elevator and using it to talk since I heard voices.

Dr. Martin told me that she thought they were working on the elevator. She said she would go down to let my friend know that for the time being I would be stuck on the third floor.

So, Dr. Martin went down and caught my friend and got her cell phone number. However, while she was doing that, Dr. Wyman offered to help me get everything down the stairs. I can walk down the stairs if I'm not carrying tons of stuff and my back isn't too sore.

So, she and I went down the stairs as she carried my chair and I just let my school bag clunk down the stairs as it rolls and contained nothing fragile.

Once we got to the first floor, we met up with Dr. Martin who handed me the cell phone number. I was then able to call my class mate and she came back to give me a ride home.

I ended up falling asleep quite early. Once I awoke, I decided that I'd just go to bed and I ended up sleeping almost all night except being awake a few times, but I still stayed in bed and relaxed, easily falling back asleep while cuddling with the dogs.

Oh, and my back is still sore.
