Dear LJ Genie who never forgets a single tune or lyric,
I am looking for the lyrics to a song. I do not know the title. It would always drive me crazy that the one hymn sounded the same as it started.
I found a recording of the song. I sang it when I was in the local community children's choir.
The words to the song I want go something like "no golden palace, no warm bed" . . . "no . . . to lay his head"
The first phrase, "no golden palace," sounds either exactly like or almost like the first line "All earth is hopeful," from the hymn "All Earth is Hopeful."
I have the words to the first verse of that hymn:
All earth is hopeful, the Savior comes at last!
Furrows lie open for God’s creative task:
This, the labor of people who struggle to see
How God’s truth and justice set everybody free.
I think there is a part of the song that goes into a key change that sound like a minor key that says something like, "Here in this room . . ."
My google-fu has totally failed me on trying to find this song. Can anybody please help me?
