Blisters are no fun, neither is being QC'd.

I guess it was two days ago that I realized my laptop gave me this gigantic heat blister on my left leg from the heat it generated when I held it, not so originally, on my lap. I was trying so hard to not let it get popped, always watching the dogs, and just holding a cold, damp wash cloth on it at nights (not that this would help it heal, but it did feel good).

Well, Briana and I went shopping tonight and everything was fine. I didn't hit the blister. I was so good. I come home and Briana, our Mama, and I are all sitting on the couch and ready to eat some ice cream. I forget the exact name, but it was Dreyer's Chocolate Brownie Chunk Mint or something like that. It was mint ice cream with chocolate chips and brownie chunks!

Anyway, Niblet also thought that this ice cream sounded very good - even the cold, as he didn't really know what it was. I was trying to keep him away from my blister and it worked the first time, and maybe the second, but while trying to keep him away . . . yep, he slid right into it and popped it open! So, I drained it and had my Mama go get some Neosporin (well, actually "Walgreen's Triple Antibiotic Ointment) and bandages so I could cover the popped blister like I'm supposed to do. Now, I'm supposed to change the bandages every day . . . also reapply the ointment each day while changing the ointment.

I've been QC'd three times so far working for ChaCha. I don't think one was really a great QC, but I found a better link to include with it. It's not a huge deal to me. Oh, QC'd means that Quality Control didn't think your answer really fit with the quality chacha wants for answers.

None of my QC's have been from questiosn where I've specified that more information is needed. For those, I link to ChaCha's FAQ page and that seems to be fine.

I've since learned that we are not to use any wiki sites, yahoo answers, answerbag, or similar sites. Well, I learned that last week or a few days ago when I read the forums. (Yes, this includes answers.com). Obviously, these sites can lead us to other sites with the information or on terms to search for the information.

I've slowly been customizing Firefox so it is all "decked out" to work for ChaCha. I use two add ons. They are called "Speed Dial" and "Clippings." I have it so Speed Dial opens in any new window or new tab. This makes it easy for me, though I just try to keep a speed dial tab open at all times I do work for chaCha.

The idea of speed dial is so the most accessed sites can be accessed with just a click. I also have it so the sites open in a new tab when I click. That is all in the customization of speed dial. When it is first installed, it only gives three by three, so nine sites can be stored, but that can be changed, too. I currently have it set on five by five.

clippings allows me to insert text easily into the ChaCha answer guide. I have some sign offs, some facts, and some jokes saved in clippings so all I have to do is go to a site, "link it" (using the ChaCha tool bar with that green plus sign - not worrying about selecting text), and then make sure the cursor is in the ChaCha answer box and hold down ctrl+alt+v and then just push the short cut key I've assigned to the text.

I know the explanation sounds really long, but using these tools does make working for ChaCha quicker than finding these answers and jokes over and over again.

For some reason, though, I was thinking that the limit was 160 characters when it is 130 characters, so I need to fix a few of my clippings, though not many.

Anyway, today somebody asked me if I could translated a phrase from Spanish into English. They gave me the following phrase.

"los mexicanos preperan tostados, tacos, enchiladas, ect. Rellenan las tortillas de pollo, came de res o frijdes y queso"

Okay, I don't think they meant "frijdes." I hope not. I hope they meat "frijoles."

Even funnier, though, is the tranlation that Google Translate gave:

"Mexicans preperan toasted, tacos, enchiladas, ect. Tortillas stuffed chicken, beef or camel cheese and frijdes"

Really, Google? Really?
