FYI: I'm currently working on a video for my Sister of her wedding. The event was wonderful. More about that when I'm not in a shitty mood

Shit, Greg-- I'm sorry that you're feeling so miserable. Obviously I am not in your situation and can't really offer any real advice or help, but I can suggest this: House parties / clubs suck for meeting people. It's too loud to actually talk to people, and I don't think that hooking up with drunk people is really your scene (though it might be, this is just the impression I get). Plus everyone just talks to people they already know.
As scary as socially dejected people may be, you might want to check out some school clubs/ activist groups. Don't underestimate the power of sober people interested in the same things you are-- you'd be amazed at who you'll find beyond the weirdos. Hell-- you might find you like the weirdos too.
They might be a bit surprised to see a 6'-something guy walk in, but I'm sure they'll be happy to meet you, esp. if you're interested in volunteering or something.

You mentioned you're interested in feminism, right? Check out Scarborough's Women's Centre:

There might be a trivia club on campus, too. At our school, we can create any club we want. Why not create a board games club if there isn't one already? Here's a list of clubs at your school: http://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/~myutsc/involvement/ClubsList2004-2005.pdf
The UofO has all sorts of ridiculous clubs, cite us as an example if you get flack for creating a silly club. ;)
Anyway, if none of this is actually helpful, I'm sorry and I hope you feel better soon.
