unusual happenings today

I came home for lunch at 12:30pm, and saw 3 Mexicans sleeping on the pavement of my complex parking lot by the landscaping trucks in 45 degree weather. They were still sleeping there when I walked back into my car a half hour later. Siesta is obviously still observed in NJ.

I saw a jazz concert at Rutgers tonight with the NJYP crew. My friend Sam who I met my first week at Carnegie Mellon, showed up and it was great to see him!! I kept telling people, hey! I have known this guy since 1997!!! He's living in Jersey City, and hopefully will recruit other CMUers to NJYP! This jazz concert presented my first live performance by a blind musician, who did a solo. Afterwards, our NJYP crew went to On the Border, where the jazz ensemble later showed up, and we got to meet the blind musician and all the other awesome performers there!! They got to join us for our $1 draft special that we convinced the manager to let us in on :) Cheers!
