Seriously?

I’m attempting to get back to eating better since I kind of fell off the wagon for a week or two there. Failing to stop by the store and pick up more lunch stuffs didn’t help either, especially when it seemed like I kept getting off work later than originally planned.

Anything else I may have yammered on about was put on hold when I saw a headline while eating lunch. I had to look twice to make sure I saw it correctly and I still couldn’t believe it:

Georgia lawmaker proposes classifying miscarriages as prenatal murder

After I read through the article the only thing that came to my mind was a huge, “WTF?” and now the more I think about it the more upset/angry/whatever I get. To make matters even worse in the article (if this law somehow passes) it stated that if a woman who miscarries can’t prove there was no human involvement then she could potentially get sentenced to death. Again, wtf? It’s bad enough that I recall seeing a few headlines previously stating that someone was trying to pass something about rape (being drunk, getting drugged, etc wouldn’t be classified as such) though I never had the chance to read up on that, so I don’t know where all that stands. I would just like to know just what the hell is going on lately where these sorts of things are even being brought up as potential laws.

I wish I could be more eloquent in how I feel about this but right now it’s just all a jumble. For now I’ll just hope this won’t see the light of day, though I’ll be surprised if it does get passed. I can’t even imagine how much ire/rage it’s already stirred up. Normally I like the South, even with its various eccentricites, but ... yeah.

wtf, seriously?, georgia, prenatal murder
