It was nice to have a long weekend last weekend, even if I didn’t get paid for Monday and Tuesday since I was out of work. The Metallica concert Sunday night was AMAZING. Loud, which was expected, but lots of amazing. I’m glad D and C were able to go with
gravitate and me. I just wish we had been able to get pictures of the show! They had lasers and fire and at the end of things they had various sizes of Metallica blow up balls fall from the ceiling. I was also amused when James got on the mike near the end and asked, “Why do you guys have more energy? Why!?” They tried to shoosh the crowd out too and got booed then got cheered when James said they were play another song or two: “Now that sound, we like.” I would so love to see them live again.
Monday we took them to the GA Aquarium and I think I was more amused by watching D when it came to the tunnel with the OMG huge tank around/above us. Loads of pictures were taken but I’ve yet to see how many actually came out well - some of the fish were quick little buggers. I even took a video of the otters since they were romping around and tackling each other. After that was the Coca-Cola center since D is a Coke fiend and by the time we got back to the hotel I think all of us were pretty tuckered out. Tuesday we all went to see Zombieland, which had us giggling/laughing despite it being a zombie movie, go figure (I heart Tallahassee).
The downside to the whole weekend? Gizmo had to be put to sleep while I was gone. He had some form of cancer in his jaw and it just steadily got worse and worse until the side of his face was badly swollen and he was just licking at his food, mom said. I had so hoped I would come home and have him still be there but that’s just the way things go, sometimes. I’d rather he not be in pain than have him here and suffering. I came across a picture of him on my laptop last night while looking for something else and I teared up, again.
