Based on a prompt from a 100 Themes Challenge I’m trying to do.
Disclaimer: If I owned Axis Powers Hetalia, it’d be a lot slashier, Canada would be more than an afterthought and I’d know Japanese. As none of these things are true, I don’t own, so don’t sue.
There was nothing quite like zooming down the highway at 80 miles an hour, knowing that the car wasn’t even stressed and would easily do double that if you asked it to, America decided. He made lots of fine cars, a lot of very good cars, even a couple of great cars. But the wonders of mass production left quite a few things out. Such as the power of a v12 engine that screamed in delight as you gave it the fuel to faster and faster, inspected with a microscope for the tiniest of imperfections. Nothing like the smooth shifting of a manual transmission that was worthy of a race car. Nothing like the symbolic red paint that for anyone in the know signified absolute perfection and dedication to the automobile. And for this, America had beg one of his fellow nations. There was nothing like a finely crafted Italian sports car among America’s many achievements, and absolutely nothing that came close to a Ferrari.
