Open mic
Good night at open mic tonight. Short set. I was only able to do four songs. In addition to the three I did with Brittany. She's cutting into my stage time. What a terrible woman! On top of that she was STEAMING drunk and was worse than usual. Whatever. I hope that people see that it's not me that's to blame.
My set consisted of:
Sloan - I Can Feel It
Sam Roberts - Brother Down
City & Colour - Sleeping Sickness
and Broken Social Scene - Ibi Dreams of Pavement
I was going to do Stars' Barricade (as I'd just written out the lyrics and it's beautiful) but I was shuffled off stage so that a ukulele playing woman could do her thing. On the other hand, there were a LOT of talented people there tonight. WAY more than usual, and a bunch of new faces. Hopefully they become regulars and the night will only get better. Everyone I know should come out if/when they can. It really is a cool place and a fun night.
So now I'm off to watch last night's episode of Robot Chicken and tuck in? I think I might order some insulin tonight and pick it up on the way to work tomorrow morning. I could do that. It might not be a bad idea. Or I'll just grab it on the way home. We'll see.
