I just came back from checking out Burn After Reading. I like the Cohen brothers. I also like having the cinema to myself. I don't know what it is with people, but they seem to HATE The Palace. I find it's my favourite place in the city to watch a flick. I think it's charming. I don't need THX or stadium seating. I want old school. Yeah, it's a shite-hole, but it's MY shite-hole!
Anyway, I reccomend the movie. It's quirky. As Cohen brothers flicks should be. And I found it hilarious. It seems to clear the clouds of this rainy weekend.
So tomorrow I'm doing open mic at Kildare again. With Brittany (my sister's friend) and we're playing terrible pop songs. But my set will be good ;-) People should come by. If you've got nothing else to do.
Tomorrow is our first week of being back to regular hours. No more "every-other-friday-off" for us. I'm going to miss that. But it means that fall is coming. And I LOVE that! I want to be able to dress like the sexy human being I am!
The rain was a pisser this weekend. It wiped out my regular gig both Friday and Saturday. I was not happy. Also the ceiling in my studio decided that it was time to start collapsing. This is not good. This will be the first shitty thing in homeownership that I've had to deal with. I need me a handy-man/woman who knows how to fix things and will work in trade. Wouldn't that be nice?
So happy Post-Ike to everyone, and I hope everyone stayed dry and cozy.
