New Job!

OMG, so I have the best job in the world for me right now. And a lot of you are gonna think it's boring, a lot of you think that you'd shoot yourselves, but I *love* it. It's not even work for me.

For the time being, until I feel like getting a real job/going to grad school, I have a job working at a used bookstore on Pleasant St. in Willimantic, like right around the corner from my house! As I am a huge geek, this is my DREAM job! SO MANY BOOKS! Even better, a lot of what I do is inputting books into the computer system and processing internet book orders, so I'm on the computer a lot too! In fact, I'm at work RIGHT NOW!! *grin*

So I'm sitting here online, plugging books into the system, reading a book on the Italian Renaissance and chatting with friends... with the exception of the whole data processing thing, this is what I do at home for fun. All I'd need is a TV with Yu-Gi-Oh on it at 4:30 and That 70s Show, Malcolm in the Middle and Will and Grace reruns and I practically WOULD be home. My townie friend Dan came by with an egg and cheese sandwich for me, and we ate and talked about D&D and my job and mudding and other geeky things. Y'know, hanging out with the queers all the time has really got me away from my geek roots. I mean, I can parley that in a gay setting and appear to be "intellectual"... but I'm really just a big ole geek. :-D

So I went on a date with Eric the other day.

What a fabulous man. :-D

That's all I'll say about that.

Oh, PAINTBALL! A bunch of church people and I went to play Paintball on Saturday. OMG! I never had so much fun being shot at in all my life! It was seriously like WAR man... except, well y'know, without the ever-present awareness of your mortality hanging in front of you, hehe... I just got into my scrubs (and it's HORRIBLE, as "scrubs" for me are two-year old GAP and American Eagle clothes), rented a paintball gun and bought some balls, and we went out into the field. It really reminded me of boyscouts in a way. I also learned that I'm actually a semi-decent field commander. We played a variant of Capture the Flag where both sides had forts protecting the flag (I'm not gonna explain Capture the Flag... if you don't know how to play the game, go ask the nearest eight year old you can find), and there were towers in the forts. I played tower, where you could see the entire battlefield around you and see enemy units encroaching, and I basically called out where the enemies were and directed defense men to take care of the advancing threats. It was just soooooooo much fun. I'm actually a decent shot with a gun too! I was hit four times over maybe eight or nine different games, which is good for a first-timer, and I took out maybe six people over those eight or nine games. The funniest part about it was the mentality one had to adapt to be successful. Like, in one of the first games, I rushed to cover and fell on a big rock or something with my thigh. It hurt like HELL, but I didn't care as guns were going off and I could be shot any minute! I was (and still am, but not as much) VERY sore, but I'd do it again in a HEARTBEAT. I want to get the fags to play a game sometime, and get a bigger group of my church to play again before it gets too cold. (Of course, fag and church games would be separate. *grin*)

Lesse, what else... Oh, I guess I could go on more about Eric.

So after Paintball during the day on Saturday, I went to Matt's b'day party at Polo that evening (it was fabulous -- army fatigues and layers during the day, Kenneth Cole and tightness at night... I truly am a renaissance fag *grin*). I was honestly dreading going... I'm not sure why, but the majority of the people there who I once considered friends are now snubbing me at every turn. Dave and Budewitz can barely give me the time of day, Adrian has shut down toward me again, blah blah blah... While ordinarily I'd be trying to figure out why they are doing this, by now I'm at the point where I could care less, sooooooo I say my hellos, talk to them when it's socially unavoidable, and let them float around the rest of the time. I HATE acting that way, because I really just love talking to EVERYONE, but eventually one has to give it up, y'know? But I promised Matt I'd be there, so I had to go.

I'm standing around, saying hi to people, talking to the people I actually like and avoiding those I don't, when Will walks in the door. I love Will, so I go over to talk to him, give him a hug, etc. Will says something like, your phone's been busy, I was trying to warn you... I ask him, warn me about what? And he flicks his eyes over to someone behind me. I turn around and it's ERIC! It was at that moment when I knew I was saved. Eric and I were cool with each other at that point, I caught wind that he might've been interested in me, and if nothing else we could talk a lot and get to know each other y'know? So he, Will and I talked... we made Will go away by poking him mercilessly, and then talked. I was standing close by him on his side, while he was sitting in a chair with his knees apart. (Eric is 6'3" -- he considerately sat down to make himself seem less imposing to me, as well as everyone else LOL!) Shane (whom I STILL love... Shane is a fabulous man whose attitude toward people never changes or degrades with time. SO RARE!) came around and started talking to us, then SOMEHOW manipulated things where I was standing in between Eric's legs... I think he danced with me and then pushed me there, or something? Eric and I were both drinking, so we can't really recall. But the point is, standing close to each other like that and looking at each other just changed something. Eric looks at me and says something like, "I normally hate kissing people in a club like this, but I really want to make out with you right now." I said something like, I want to make out with you too.... and the next thing I knew, we were making out, right there! GOD is he a good kisser... I mean, omg. So somewhere in the middle, we open our eyes (at separate times), and notice everyone looking at us! Now Eric felt slightly uncomfortable, but I personally can be a big ham, so I just let 'em stare. It was a show too... we made out for like 10 minutes.

Thanks, Shane!

Shortly afterward, the club closed, so we both went our separate ways (after exchanging contact info of course). We talked the next day, and I went up there because he wanted to talk and wanted us to learn more about each other and such, so he took me out to the Olive Garden (The McDonalds of fine food restaurants, as he put it). We talked a LOT, ate good food, then went back to his house to watch a gay love flick. Ahh, I love that movie. Then more making out, cuddling, talking, sleeping, and then it was morning.

This could seriously go somewhere. *grin*

Can't really think of too much else... so I'll leave it for now. I really should input more books into the system anyway.
