There's a little feral short hair cat (born earlier this year on campus) that hangs out around the COE building and lately has been hanging out behind the TDRL's back window. Two of our cats were rescues from Las Vegas. One was a kitten Irish found in a cement wall in the desert behind his employer; the mother and his litter mates had all died. The other was, I believe, a pet someone abandoned when they moved from those apartments we lived in on Swenson. (There were also lots of feral cats at those apartments; the maintenance staff loved them and fed them because they kept rodents and lizards away.)

(And very, very glad you and the other VegasFen are ok. I'm very much in Las Vegas in my mind these past few days and it's been continually in my prayers.)
