*Open your camera's eye view on a random patch of scenery. Fairly non-descript, with the usual trees and shrubs and so on. It's... quiet. For her part, Kaci is perfectly used to the surprised and shocked reactions to her appearance as a car that can apparently drive itself. She's admittedly amused by the familiarity of the situation, but also can't help feeling rather sorry for the young officers as she pulls away and heads back up the road though. "Poor guys. They dunno what they've stumbled on, do they?"

"Thank you, Kaci," Spike offers as he settles into her seat. He is tired, and very tense, but he's continuing to hide it under a veneer of calm, brisk coolness. "Haste back to Metroplex would be appreciated. What can you tell me?"

"You're welcome, and of course." To make good on that last part, she starts to put on noticeable speed as they approach the open road. "I'm still kinda getting my bearings on what's going on, so I'm not sure how much I can be... but what do you want to know?"

The little flatscreen monitor is still sitting on its place on the dashboard, attached to the central console. The map changes to allow Spike to see where they are (the blinking red dot) and where Metroplex is (outlined in green).

"I can patch you a secure connection back to Autobot City if you think it would help." There's a smile in her voice. They didn't nickname the Knight vehicles 'wonder cars' for nothing, and she's only too glad to offer her assistance in any way possible. Without being attached to her home universe's Knight Foundation any more, it's been difficult at times for Kaci to feel as though she's doing anything especially helpful. That's always been her function -- to help those in need. Perhaps now, with an apparent crisis going on, she can lend her help and feel more like she's doing what she's always done at the Knight Foundation. The familiarity would help, especially since she's still getting used to living with the Autobots on a long-term basis now.

"This close to Metroplex, they should be used to seeing Autobots running about," Spike replies, tired and frustrated enough to let a little of his anxiety slip out in his voice.

He takes a deep breath and peers at the screen. "When was the last time anyone had contact with the others?" he asks quietly, putting off the secure connection for the moment. Time enough to get grilled on the way.

"According to Metroplex, Roddy--Rodimus Prime led the raiding party off at 1042 hours. He paged Metroplex at 11:21 to say that he was beginning his raid on the facility, and that's the last anybody heard from him or the others...", she tells him worriedly.

"That was yesterday? Or has it been longer?" Spike asks. "I spent most of the last however long it was unconscious."

"That was yesterday, yep." Again with the worry-tinged silence. After a while it occurs to Kaci to give Spike a quick bio-scan with her onboard sensors. "Are you hurt, Ambassador?"

A moment later, the small flatscreen monitor on the dashboard, just in front of Spike, suddenly changes its display and Pepper's face appears on the screen. In the background, the others can be glimpsed too.

At the same time, Spike's face appears on the screen at Pepper's console.

"All yours, Ambassador," Kaci announces, a smile in her voice.

"Metroplex may be compromised. Our.... adversary claimed to have us under surveilance for some time. Recommend Metroplex does a full security sweep of all systems before we arrive," Spike declares, getting straight to the point immediately.

Yeah, Carly's safe. Mad as a hippo with a hernia, but safe. *pause* Actually, I think you're the closest thing we have to a leader right now. Magnus and Kup are off on that secret-mission-whatever.

Spike pauses as he digests this. Roddy and the others... They have to be safe. Somewhere, they just have to be safe.

He stops himself before he can work himself up, nodding at Pepper. "Understood. Get Red Alert cracking on security. I'll brief when we arrive."
