McKay and Sheppard: The Genius and the Flyboy

For one of the current challenges at stargateland, we have to create a manifesto for our favourite Stargate pairing. I, of course, chose McKay and Sheppard. It's possible that I got a little carried away. This post is long. And heavy on pictures.

But Rodney spent most of season 4 trying to copy John's hair.

LOL, yes. ;) I actually cracked up when I saw John giving Jeannie the tape in McKay and Mrs. Miller. I was like, "What, did he, like, have that on his computer? Whyyy? It was supposed to be like 30 minutes too long! And he watched it to know about the pertinent 'Family' part." Gee whiz. ;)

*grins* Sheppard needed something to watch during those cold nights alone in his tiny bed. ;)

I pretty much squealed out loud when I saw the link to this post. Manifesto love ♥ I love the overview of the pairing you get; the surface of their feelings for each other, because there are so many amazing little moments, how can you cover them all?

What I love most about John showing Jeannie the S1 tape is that John had to have seen it to know to show it to Jeannie. You can argue all you want about if John took it from the database or if he has a stored copy on a personal laptop. When you get right down to it, John had to have watched the video at least once, had to have listened to Rodney call the people of Atlantis his family. And it stuck with him so much that he remembered to show it to Jeannie ♥

Sooo posting this on my McShep tumblr.

I'm really glad that you enjoyed the post. It was a lot of fun to write. I completely agree that it's impossible to cover all of the great moments - I wrote a lot, but there are still so many others that I could've included. I love those boys so much!

And yes, your point about John and the S1 tape is a very good one. I love imagining John watching that tape for the first time. :)

Ooooh, I'm excited that you have a McShep tumblr! I just stalked you found it via your journal, and I'm following you. (I'm wecannameitlater over there).

I'm ridiculously fond of John and Rodney ♥

Me too. I wish we could have seen that, or that someone wrote it as a fic. It'd be interesting to see how people think he'd react.

js;a YAY! There's a submit button too, so if you ever want to post something, feel free :D I hope you like it!

Wonderful and fun post. I enjoyed your observations.

I was re-watching Trinity a couple hours ago and thinking McShep thoughts. Also, I was admiring Rodney in the black shirt he was wearing during the getting-the-weapon-ready montage scene.

I really miss those boys, but at least sharing the love with you all helps me to remember why they were so great.
