McKay and Sheppard: The Genius and the Flyboy

For one of the current challenges at stargateland, we have to create a manifesto for our favourite Stargate pairing. I, of course, chose McKay and Sheppard. It's possible that I got a little carried away. This post is long. And heavy on pictures.

Oh, great manifesto post! I love it. Thank you for posting it here. :-)

You know, about the "Letters from Pegasus"-tape ...

Do you remember how Kavanagh asked Ford if anybody on Atlantis would see this tape and Ford told him no, these messages are private?

KAVANAGH: Will anyone from Atlantis be viewing this?

FORD: No. Messages are private. (He grins.) You can get as mushy as you want.

Which means that either John got the tape directly from Rodney or he got hold of it in a somewhat shady way. Either he bribed (or ordered) Ford to get him a copy or he got his hands on it in a different unofficial way.

My point is: it's not only interesting that John *had* a copy of the message that he could show Jeannie but that he wasn't even *supposed* to know about the content in an official, legal way to begin with.

It wasn't intended that anybody else than the person speaking and Ford recording the tape got information on what was said on the tapes.

And still John knew. Which means he was interested in getting this knowledge and had actively to do something to get it.

Which begs the question *why*. ;-)

Sorry for my delayed response to your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed my manifesto. :)

That's a really good point about the Letter's From Pegasus tape. I'd love to read some fanfic where someone describes exactly how (and when) Sheppard saw that tape.
