So, since I'm getting pre-ski season cabin fever, and am fed up with the restaurant industry during mud season (i.e., the season when no one comes up to Summit County), I am deciding to take a road trip. And it will actually be a productive road trip (I suppose there is such a thing).
It has been named "My Crazy Law School Road Trip".
Yes, I am visiting all the schools I have applied to within the next couple weeks.
I'm going to cheat by starting early next week and visiting DU on Tuesday.
But then, starting at some point in November (most likely the 7th or the 8th, not sure yet though), I will be taking off. And bringing the puppy dog with me. I think the technical purpose of that is to see how dog friendly the cities are, but in reality, he just makes a really awesome travelling companion.
I've got three different itineraries going. They all visit the same cities, just in different orders.
And the sad thing is that each of the itineraries is dependent on when I can visit Ben.
Yup, I've somehow convinced myself that the UP is going to be on the way. At least it does give me a little circle going on. But it's still out of the way. His job doesn't start until the 30th of October, so he doesn't have his schedule yet. And yeah, I guess I somehow ended up putting myself up there around the time of Thanksgiving. Which works if he doesn't have time off for Thanksgiving. It doesn't work if he does have enough time off, because then he's going to Milwaukee. Which he invited me to. So that's another one of my itineraries, is being in Milwaukee over Thanksgiving. And I have a third one, but I don't really remember what it is.
So, the cities (and schools) I'm visiting, in no particular order, are: Minneapolis (U. Minnesota), Chicago (DePaul), Cleveland (Case Western Reserve), New York City - which I'm totally freaking out about driving through Manhattan (Cardozo University), Boston (Boston College and New England School of Law), and Syracuse ('Cuse).
I'll keep you updated on what's going on with that. Not that anyone reads these things anymore....I don't think....
But if there is anyone out there reading this, and you are on my voyage, or you know somewhere that I can stay with Raleigh (the big issue there), let me know.
