some blessings are:
the solstice is tomorrow so the days will start getting longer! more light! more sunshine!
I am 29 weeks pregnant today!
george proposed to me exactly 2 years ago
we are going to LA for Christmas with his family
we are taking the dog and going to train her to interact appropriately with baby emma, a trial run before giulia comes
george got a new job today!
he starts january 8, 2018 and will make $9,000 more a year!
he has to quit his other job and he has to convince his new job to give paternity leave
my job is going well! i like it and I have 5 months of maternity leave
I will go back in August
we found a day care near our house that is affordable and where they only speak spanish

some challenges are:
we are going to go on a 20 hour car ride with the dog and with me having diabetes and pregnant
his grandma, mamaita, is dying
I have gestational diabetes

some things to trust god about:
we don't know if he will have paternity leave
a smooth transition to his new job and parting of his current job
save enough money to have baby and take the time off

We have had a crazy year so far... this 2017. We are now planning for a trip to go see his family for Christmas. We had a white Christmas last year in MN with my family and had a crazy amount of ordeals with the airlines trying to get back to Portland last year. That was all before Dave Ramsey course that helped us to get our finances in order. We are doing better now. We are now not in debt except for our house and we are about 12,500 above and getting ready for when baby comes. We have 3 more months of savings! George changed jobs 2 times this year! He went from being an Admissions Counselor at WSU to being an Academic Adviser at Warner Pacific to now being an Academic Adviser at Clark College! He is moving up! Also, his pay will increase to $50,000 a year from $41,000 a year. I think I will be making $49,000 next year, so we are doing better financially with getting new jobs!

Also, we got a dog this year, Reign Promise, she is a black labrador/golden retriever mix and is learning her manners. It will be interesting because we will bring her to L.A. for Christmas.

I am 29 weeks pregnant today, only 11 weeks until we meet Giulia Sofia Argueta! She seems to be very active in my belly. I have developed gestational diabetes this week, so I need to be very careful what I eat... no sweets! No carbs!

So, for 2018, we are hoping to have time together to get to know this baby, visitors, a new daycare, and then starting back at work next August! It will be a fun but tiring year! I am excited for baby to be here.

Next Christmas, we are not traveling anywhere! We will have a Christmas at home in Portland!
