C.H.A.S.E. (Changmin Has Always Sucked Extraordinarily)
Part 2

He ran. Never mind that it is virtually impossible for a man of Jaejoong's fine tuned, yet still rather inadequate body to outrun a moving car. He ran anyway, the ache from the bottom of his still bare feet crying out for him to please, please stop and put some shoes on, but Jaejoong paid no attention.

He would get his lab partner to give him a foot massage later. Maybe the next time Jaejoong decided to show up to class. That might be sooner than he thought. Or so he hoped as Auntie Hyori's threat clanged like demon bells in his head.

Jaejoong could see Changmin's face in the back of the accelerating car as it shrunk smaller and smaller off into the distance. A mixture of terror, relief and more terror. So much terror. Jeez, what was so scary about having his best friend touch him inappropriately?

Jaejoong could barely register the footsteps thumping behind him. Everything in his surroundings that did not include Changmin and that getaway car was a vignette of dusty memories Jaejoong didn't care to pay the barest amount of attention to. Not even the odd feeling of his pajama bottoms flapping in the wind.

Well, everything but that city bus ambling down the street heading in the direction of Changmin and-

"STOP!!"

Jaejoong didn't recall ever thinking, Hmmmm. This could be a stupid idea. Jumping out in front of a bus with no shoes and a dimming dream with his arms spread wide just didn't seem like a bad alternative at the time.

He remembered hearing a strangled gasp from that voice that kept haunting him from behind and the screeching of tires. The angered shouts from the bus driver once he'd pried his way onto the bus and leisurely taken a seat about halfway back registered somewhere vaguely in the back of his mind. But that was about it. As long as the bus stayed behind Changmin, nothing else mattered.

"You're crazy."

It was then that Jaejoong noticed he had a traveling buddy.

"Junsu?!"

The other sat in a seat in the relatively empty bus across the aisle from Jaejoong, panting and half glaring but too exhausted physically and emotionally to go all out.

"What are you doing here?" His voice held all the irritation he could muster because this kid next to him was really good at irritating him but ninety percent of his attention was on Changmin's getaway car that the bus was thankfully currently closing distance on.

Junsu panted a bit more and gulped as the pinkness in his face began to fade away, leaving Jaejoong with the vaguest idea that he looked like a mildly cute kid who had just had a long day swinging around the monkey bars having the time of his life.

"What am I doing here?!" The volume of his voice erased all thoughts Jaejoong might have had about this person resembling a small adorable child. But they weren't important thoughts anyway. Just thoughts, just thoughts. "What are you doing? Do you realize you almost died? What is so important that you had to throw yourself out in front of a moving bus and risk your life?"

With a distracted snort, Jaejoong shrugged and kept his defiant eyes trained on the car ahead as the bus rumbled forward. Tailgating, actually, but Jaejoong couldn't complain. "So many questions. But do I have any sage-like answers?"

"I'm not expecting sage-like anything from you," Junsu said flatly and Jaejoong had to turn to pin him with a heated warning look. "I just want to know why."

"Why what? I don't remember the question now," Jaejoong said lightly, with the same hard stare.

"Why are you so stupid?"

"Why are you even following me?" The retort came in a rush, packed with so much frustration, Jaejoong couldn't have possibly gotten the words out fast enough.

There was a pause.

Junsu sat back in his seat, furrowed his brow and brought his hand up to his mouth, curving his index finger in until the nail touched his top lip with intense delicacy as if in deep thought. The silence was constricting and Jaejoong wasn't sure if he should just laugh at this kid's preposterous honesty or throw him off the bus through the window.

"At first it was for survival," He finally looked away from the infinite space he had fallen into while lost in thought and attached his chocolate brown eyes to Jaejoong's. "You know...the food fight. And then...I think it was out of confusion."

Jaejoong stared at Junsu.

Junsu stared at Jaejoong.

The wheels on the bus went round and-

"Now I know why you lived in Japan to study abroad," Jaejoong said at length while Junsu cocked his head to the side. "Your family wanted to get rid of you." He snorted and took to keeping watch on Changmin's car.

Junsu wrinkled his nose. "How'd you know I lived in Japan?"

"You told me, idiot." Jaejoong retorted in a way that didn't exactly say, Please sleep with me before tomorrow.

"You remembered?" Junsu's eyes went as wide as Jaejoong figured they could possibly go and leaned across the aisle as if he couldn't quite get a clear view of Jaejoong at such a distance.

"It's one of the first things you yelled at me," Jaejoong rolled his eyes and chewed on his words as if spitting them out was just too wasteful. "That and something about extra small..."

A strange animal-like sound burst from the other side of the bus. At first the high-pitched noise made Jaejoong jump. What was a dolphin doing on a bus? Or was it a duck? How did he know the manner in which either of those animals would laugh?

But then he started blushing.

There was no reason why, there was no reason how. He just did. And it wasn't until after the pinkish hue began creeping towards his jawline that Jaejoong realized the sound was Junsu's laugh, full and vibrant as his face scrunched from the force of his own giddy delirium.

Jaejoong suddenly wanted to kill him. More than ever. No one made Jaejoong blush. Perhaps only Yunho. Once.

The other took no notice or at least he never let on that he did. "Something inside makes me want to apologize but it's just so funny and you have such a huge ego that I just don't want to anymore." And the peculiar laughter continued.

He waited until the heat in his cheeks dimmed into what he guessed and prayed looked like a healthy flush or perhaps the onslaught of wrath before responding. "It's not that funny."

"It's not," Junsu admitted through gasps and giggles. "But it's so weird." More of that other worldly laughter that made Jaejoong want to shut him up somehow before the blood in his head leaked through his pores. "And why am I still with you? I keep meeting you all over campus. This whole week. It's like God is forcing us to become friends."

The post-laughter smile that spread across his entire...body was so bright, Jaejoong didn't have the heart to tell him that God only made his incredible body for sex. Not this annoying smart mouth's companionship.

Shifting in his seat in a way that did not say that Jaejoong was A.) uncomfortable B.) hiding the pink in his cheeks C.) giving his hands something distracting to do or D.) all of the above, he propped his knee up on the seat in front of him, crossed his arms and turned away nonchalantly.

"Why are you sitting way over there if God wants you to be with me?" Jaejoong muttered, staring at the back wheels of Changmin's getaway car.

There did seem to be a peculiar amount of space between the two as Jaejoong sat slumped next to the window on one side of the bus and Junsu sat upright in his window seat opposite the other.

"I was pissed at you when I first got on the bus. Really pissed," Junsu replied with a straight face. The urge to slap the honesty out of this kid's mouth fertilized itself in Jaejoong's soul once again.

"Then why don't you hang out with your new friends from field day," Jaejoong chewed his words again. Gnawed on them. Til them felt raw. "I'm sure they'll never piss you off the way I do."

Again, with that unbelievably straight face and a hint of innocence, Junsu spoke. "You're the closest friend I've got here."

Jaejoong let the pause settle into conversation-ending silence and continued staring out the windshield, Changmin's car still on the right course. He didn't know why he decided to speak up again after that. The pause was too awkward and not in a way that he meant to purposefully throw the other off balance like he did sometimes to enjoy others trip over themselves. His lips worked all on their own.

"What about Yoochun?"

A breath of air was visibly caught in Junsu's chest as he lowered his eyes and tugged a strand of hair hovering over his forehead. "I don't have his number. I really want to call him."

Jaejoong didn't know what to make of this. Junsu's face seemed too thoughtful to read as anything other than that. Pure thought. But was he trying to piss Jaejoong off or was he-

"No."

Jaejoong leaned forward in his seat as the bus barreled forward.

And Changmin's getaway made a sharp left.

"Stop the bus. Turn around. Put it in reverse. Something."

"Jaejoong..." The worry rising in Junsu's voice went unnoticed as Jaejoong stood up and clawed his way to the front of the bus, gripping the seats for balance.

"I can't go off my route," The bus driver with a foreign accent Jaejoong couldn't place grunted none too pleasantly. "Sit down and stay behind the yellow line."

"Oh, come on," Panic slowly lifted and took flight in the back of Jaejoong's throat as his college life and Auntie Hyori's face flashed before his eyes. "No one even takes this route. Just go back and make a right. No one will notice."

"Sit down and stay behind the yellow line," The bus driver shot Jaejoong a rather murderous look and Junsu could swear he accelerated a bit just to make a point to the psychotic, demanding university student commanding the direction of this vehicle.

Jaejoong let out a lengthy sigh and began to turn back towards his seat. Almost.

Before Junsu could register anything other than the speed his eyelids took to blink and for Jaejoong to whip back around and run, the other man was at the front doors of the bus, pounding on the door with such a force, it rattled a few windows while screaming, "HELP! I'm being kidnapped! HEEEEEELP!!!"

Junsu had once thought he had been standing relatively towards the middle of the bus while Jaejoong lost his mind. But suddenly, he was at the front of the bus and couldn't remember how he had gotten there. His face was also on the floor and the bus driver was shouting, "YOU FREAKS GET OFF MY BUS NOW!!"

Ah, so that's why passengers are supposed to stand behind the yellow line, Junsu thought weakly through the pain pounding in his left cheek. A stop like that too close to the front could've chucked me through the windshield and into a palm tree in Florida. God bless yellow lines...

Jaejoong had bounded through the doors the bus driver had so kindly opened for his hasty exit and was running in the opposite direction before Junsu could to get to his feet, thank the driver for his services and follow after.

Junsu practically ran through Jaejoong's back when the other suddenly stopped at the intersection the bus had neglected before. That stupid car was just disappearing into the distance. But...

Changmin was walking leisurely with his hands in his pockets on the sidewalk across the street. Must have been dropped off not long ago before the car had driven too far away from the campus. Jaejoong could almost hear his roommate's whistling tune floating on the wind.

He thought he was safe.

Junsu had also thought he was safe. Once. Before he'd met Jaejoong.

The older man had leapt from the sidewalk in a beeline toward Changmin in another gasp of terror from Junsu as he gawked helplessly at cars blowing through the green light and swerving to avoid the black-haired madman dashing through the street.

"Do you want to die?!" An enraged voice shouted from the windows of one of the many, many (Junsu gulped) many immobilized cars strewn in chaos throughout the intersection. Junsu kept this puzzling question in mind as he tiptoed between cars in pursuit of what would ultimately be the end of his young life.

Of course Changmin noticed. His head jerked up at the first sound of a wailing car horn and Jaejoong's hungry face tearing towards him. And so he ran.

Jaejoong was beginning to wonder how long he could keep up this Changmin Chase until the other swerved off the sidewalk and into the grass of a rather familiar plot of land.

He grinned. Changmin had trapped himself. This was coincidentally Jaejoong's old high school.

Jaejoong could only assume that Changmin was in a completely and totally terrorized state of mind as he slammed through the front doors of the institution without a plan other than Get Away From Rapist.

The familiar smells of teen education and apathy smacked Jaejoong in the face as he bolted through the doors and Junsu followed behind shortly after. He vaguely mused about the school's relative lack of security. Ahhh, high school...

As three pairs of footsteps echoed through the hallway with surprising clarity, Jaejoong figured that classes were still in session.

Jaejoong's memories of this school held many hallways. But he had never gotten lost on his first day of school or any other day for that matter. An upperclassman found him out on the lawn right after his mom had dropped him off, thought he was cute and adopted him for about a week before Jaejoong had found his own two feet.

Although Changmin's long legs were stretching the distance between him and his pursuer, Jaejoong smiled as the other's back disappeared down a hallway up ahead on the left.

Dead end.

He slowed down to a comfortable jog before stopping at the head of hallway and crossed his arms in satisfaction at his little trapped mouse bouncing back and forth between the walls closing in on him.

The smirk melted from Jaejoong's face as it darkened into stark seriousness and he pointed at his target with a decisive, "YAH!"

Changmin looked Jaejoong dead in the eye and his ears almost folded in on themselves.

Jaejoong had always thought of the other as an intelligent person. Why else would he bother chasing this loser all over the city to be his fricking tutor? But what he did next had absolutely no logic, reason or law.

He turned.

And he bolted into a classroom.

Into. A high school. Classroom.

The high-pitched squeals and shouts emitting from the room did not nothing to pull Jaejoong out of the pit of disbelief that Changmin's actions had floored him into.

A few other doors on the hallway had opened in curiosity of the chaos rumbling from Changmin's "escape hatch" before Junsu had come from some strange direction and shook Jaejoong til he realized that the words coming out of his mouth were, "Hurry up! He escaped through the window."

After somehow avoiding running smack into Junsu, the oldest untangled his legs and found a door leading to the outside that Changmin had impossibly landed himself into.

Changmin ran while Jaejoong pursued and Junsu straggled behind along the outside walls of the school in a striking resemblance to Tom and Jerry and....Other...

It wasn't until Changmin had found another doorway to escape into that Jaejoong almost (Almost) slowed down to shake his head.

Food? Again?

He followed shortly through the doors of his old cafeteria and its constant wall of scents including stale bread rolls, imitation curry and sweat.

Jaejoong could hardly bother himself to notice the sea of young heads turned towards him as he burst through the door, only a minor sense of deja vu from earlier today.

He didn't know where Changmin was trying to get to but it no longer mattered. He had gotten himself stuck in the mass of tightly knit tables and book bags littering the room just like Jaejoong remembered from what felt like so long ago.

Jaejoong curved his way through the knot of tables, the same direction he'd always taken when he realized that it was the least complicated direction to make his way towards the food line and cornered Changmin in the middle of the cafeteria.

It had been tensely silent up until the point when Jaejoong smirked and grabbed the back of his roommate's shirt, shoving him forward until his entire upper body lay sprawled out on the table of some rather shocked high school girls. It was all a disordered mess from there.

Some students hid under tables, others made for the exit, many shielded themselves with their brightly colored book bags while most just sat there and screamed. The girls sitting at the table Jaejoong and Changmin were currently...utilizing seemed scared but too mesmerized by the appearance of two good looking older men to really move away.

"I have to talk to you, Changmin," Jaejoong growled with a sick smile and ground the other's shoulders into the table with more force.

"NO!" Changmin shrieked, all dignity lost and forgotten. "I know what you're going to do to me!"

Jaejoong hadn't even thought to think about their current positions but, hey now. That was an interesting picture.

Changmin completely bent over with his face pressed into the lunchroom table and his rump lifted in the air while Jaejoong stood directly behind him with one hand tangled in the back collar of his shirt and the other hand resting menacingly a little too low on Changmin's lower back. Jaejoong could only thrust his hips forward a few inches to make this experience A LOT more uncomfortable for his younger friend.

"You can't violate me right in front of all these minors. You just can't!" Changmin was almost pleading at this point. Jaejoong had two options: Reassure the guy that he only wanted his intellect, not his body. Again. Or beat the crap out of him til he fully realized what stupidity he had just put him through before Jaejoong could even get out of bed and put on regular clothes for the day.

"Just stay still and listen to me-"

Hell fricking broke lose.

It all started with Junsu. Darn it, it ALL started with Junsu.

He had tried too hastily to push forward through the maze of tables and frightened human beings and had somehow toppled over a mousy teenaged girl who was admittedly terrified at first, but became much, much more calm once she gulped in the delicious sight of the college man unintentionally pressing his body into hers.

Junsu was awkwardly, very awkwardly straddling the girl on the floor when a chair they'd disrupted tipped over in front of a student attempting to run away and find a teacher somewhere. He tripped onto a table with a cup of strawberry yogurt placed precariously on one end of a fork positioned over the edge of a plate, smacked the other end of the fork and sent it sailing through the air until it splat on the ground. A panicked escapee stepped into the mess, slipped and fell onto another student, who fell onto a nerdy looking kid who slammed into the tray held by the largest high school student Jaejoong had ever seen.

Of course.

A now familiar eery silence passed over the room as the student peeled the tray of what was once his food off the front of his shirt and glared at the kid with glasses too large for his face cowering beneath him.

For a moment, only the reaction of this one human being could overshadow Jaejoong and Changmin's commotion in the center of the room. The two of them stilled in anticipation and even Junsu forgot about his current position over the frail body of a way too excited young girl in exchange for awaiting the reaction of such a large, potentially dangerous kid.

A yellowish, slimy fluid was still sliding off the ends of his pudgy fingers when he smiled and opened his mouth.

"FOOD FIGHT!"

Apocalyptic storms of food and milk cartons and spoons exploded into the air with a resolute hurrah.

Shocked, Jaejoong ducked and hitched forward in a self-protective reflex. However, with Changmin in his current position, the younger man took it as more of an offensive rather than defensive move.

"NOOOOO!!!!!" Changmin crowed as the slight bulge in the front of Jaejoong's pants inadvertently dug into the crease of Changmin's rear.

Unaware, Jaejoong's thoughts still lay on how to protect his face and hair from flying leftover food when a rough hand jerked him back by the shoulder.

"Who are you?!" A deep voice bellowed over the cries of the students set free around them.

Jaejoong was greeted with a familiar face he'd rather not be refamiliarized with.

Principal Soo Man. Sweaty tyrant of Jaejoong's old high school and famous for refusing to pay the faculty any more than the meager salaries they now received and often mistreated them despite the hard work they displayed while educating the mass of well over 800,000 adolescents that have passed through the doors of this institution since its creation.

"Um, we, uh-"

"Quiet! I'll have you arrested for disrupting my school!" As usual. The man couldn't bother to let others speak. Not that Jaejoong had an intelligent excuse for starting a food fight in his old high school and sexually terrorizing his friend.

Before he could protest (uselessly) any further, a small voice piped from somewhere behind the fuming principal that Jaejoong could recognize as some kind of Japanese. More than likely, "I'm sorry," or something like that. Jaejoong had barely passed his Japanese class.

As Principal Soo Man attempted to drag Jaejoong by a handful of his shirt way too close to his right nipple, reminding Jaejoong of the old rumors that Soo Man liked to play with little boys, suddenly the older man's step hitched and he tumbled backward to the floor with a catastrophic roar.

Junsu erected himself from his crouched position on the floor behind where the man had been standing and bowed obsessively repeating 'I'm sorry' over and over in Japanese for whatever reason Jaejoong couldn't place.

It didn't matter much. Jaejoong took Junsu by the elbow with Changmin in the other hand and the three disappeared faster than it usually takes Jaejoong to get Nickhun off in a jacuzzi.

None of them were very hungry anyway.

***

"You run away from me again and I'll shoot you."

They had already returned to the university campus exhausted and dragging themselves in a single file line with a few yards between them, too tired to bother running and chasing all over again. Changmin was first, panting and afraid, followed by Jaejoong, panting and glaring, and finally Junsu, panting and confused.

"I'm staying as far as I possibly can from you," Changmin wheezed in a pathetic attempt at throwing contempt at the other panting behind him.

"Just listen to me," Jaejoong said in a harsh breath, shaking his head incredulously. "It's about my future. At this college. With you. You're still my friend, right?"

"Friends don't assault each other on a regular basis."

"It's not regular. Just occasionally," Jaejoong spat, fatigue rendering him vaguely unaware of the words coming from his mouth.

"Quit following me. I don't trust you not to...touch me."

"I don't want you, Changmin. I've never wanted you. You've never ever ever made my cock tingle. Not even once. Or twice. Not even in a past life. Shim Changmin is not sexy according to Kim Jaejoong. There. Feel better?"

"Now I'm just insulted."

"What do you want?!" Jaejoong's lungs were on the verge of bleeding, which seriously prohibited him from sobbing uncontrollably on the ground right then and there. "I'm desperate for a tutor and you're the only one I know other than Boa who's busy preparing for her study abroad application, who won't want something from me in return afterwards. Anyone else would demand a blowjob. I'm not in the mood, man. I'm not in the mood."

"See?" Changmin's voice flew up a few octaves. "You're not the Jaejoong I thought I knew. Old Jaejoong would never deny a blowjob. Old Jaejoong would never force a blowjob on me."

"I'd never give you a blowjob. Ew," Jaejoong wrinkled his nose. "And what happened in the library was more of a handjo........ Oh, come on. I didn't go all the way. It was purely softcore. Please stop walking," Jaejoong pleaded without effect.

"No... You'll never catch me..." The rest of Changmin's thought dribbled into debilitating panting and the two fell silent as they continued walking to somewhere on campus with Junsu still following behind.

"Maybe he's...asexual...?"

Jaejoong stopped walking and slowly, slowly turned to face Junsu behind him who again had his finger touched to his lips, nibbling slightly on the flesh in deep thought and almost ran into Jaejoong's chest.

Junsu finally looked up to see Jaejoong's blank face simmering back at him wordlessly and he cleared his throat while running a hand through his hair.

"Um, maybe he's asexual. That's why he won't help you?"

No energy.

Jaejoong had no energy to respond or even process what Korean could possibly be flowing out of the other's mouth. With a word of acknowledgment, he turned to face his original direction only to find that Changmin was gone.

Gone. Disappeared like an apparition. Again.

Nonetheless, he let his suffering legs and bare feet lead him forward to a place that even he had no idea of until he saw the door of his dorm room surface into his vision.

He almost had the beloved door closed behind him when an obstruction in the shape of someone's foot shoved it's way in.

"Um," Junsu stammered when Jaejoong opened the door slightly wider and stared him blankly. This kid was still following him?

"You're still following me, kid?" There wasn't much room for intellectual banter at this point. Only sleep and a long hot soaking treatment for his feet. And his feet would have to wait. Before he was dragged off to military kicking and screaming by his aunt.

"You need a tutor, right?" Junsu's words fell over each other and Jaejoong, too dim to properly process the situation began to shut the door once again. He certainly didn't need to be taunted about that impending fact.

"No, no!" The other jumped forward and grabbed the doorknob, swinging the door fully open. "I'll be your tutor. I'm good in all subjects, seriously. I can help."

It took a while for the fog of exhaustion and depression to lift their heavy burden. Blinking, Jaejoong stood in the doorway, still clad in his pajamas perhaps a little blood oozing from his bare toes. And then it clicked.

He was saved.

This little punk could save him.

***

"My brain is now mush."

"You say that like it's a novelty concept," Junsu chirped, closing the Chemistry book and leaning back against the wall next to Jaejoong's bed.

"Shut up, sensei," Jaejoong stretched his arms and yawned with almost violent intensity and threw himself back on his bed.

"You know what your problem is? You should go to class more often. You're actually pretty smart," Junsu commented with more straight honesty than Jaejoong cared to analyze.

"I'll show up more when the Chemistry curriculum includes discovering why I sexually entice all human beings within a few meters of my existence with the bat of one eyelash and a lick of my lips," Jaejoong was still grinning when the notebook full of scrawls about the history of Seoul landed on his face, freshly chucked by the hand of Junsu.

"I'm different, though, right?" Junsu inquired, eyes bright and Jaejoong propped himself up on his elbows.

"What do you mean?"

"You've never enticed me. Not even once. It always seems like I entice you," He said with a playful waggle of an eyebrow. "Why don't you ever just ignore someone who's nowhere near as interesting as people like Yunho and Kyuhyun?"

Slowly, Jaejoong lowered himself back into the comfort of his mattress and folded his arms behind his head, avoiding eye contact. "Who is this someone?"

Junsu smiled and nudged the other's ankle with his toe. "Me, stupid."

"You're...a good kid. Don't put yourself down." No reason Junsu needed to know about this little bet waged between him and Heechul.

Speak of the princess of all devils.

The sound of the door shutting and locking tilted Jaejoong's head until he was angled to give the intruder a suspicious a look. Heechul wasn't expected home til much later. Supposedly out with Hankyung. And Changmin wasn't expected to come back to the dorm...ever. Which should've left Jaejoong and Junsu alone to study for a bit longer.

"Hey," Heechul greeted dully, barely looking either of the two in the eye and waveringly readied himself to heave himself up on his top bunk. He seemed a little drunk to Jaejoong as he watched his friend press his slightly flushed face into the cool of his pillow.

"Hey," Junsu piped smiling a smile that should've brightened Heechul's world.

"Hey," Jaejoong's greeting was a bit more lazy and smiled a smile that should have shattered Heechul's world around his dainty little feet as Jaejoong casually hung one leg over Junsu's in a pointed show of the close relationship the two had grown in Heechul's absence.

As expected, Heechul's brow furrowed and he tilted his head to the side as if to drunkenly say, Is this for real?

"So, Junsu," Jaejoong drawled, grinning a crooked smile up at Heechul. "How long do you plan on staying here? I'm sure Heechul won't mind company."

Just when Heechul's alcohol-induced blush was beginning to blanch into concern for his own pride, Junsu had to open his mouth.

"Not long. There's no place to sleep in here and I'm not sleeping with you in your bed," Junsu scoffed good-naturedly and casually tossed Jaejoong's resting leg off his own.

It was Heechul's turn to grin.

Abruptly propping himself up on his elbows, Jaejoong looked back and forth between Heechul and Junsu, who seemed oblivious to the tension brewing. "But you can sleep in Changmin's bed. At least. Sleep in Changmin's bed. He won't even come anywhere near this room."

Junsu chuckled. "You guys seem to have some issues to work out. I don't want to seem like I'm replacing him by impeding on his territory. Can't step on a man's pride like that." As a punctuation, Junsu reached over and tousled the hair on Jaejoong's head in a way that could not possibly ever on any other planet or universe be misconstrued as anything more than brotherly.

Heechul's head was now propped in one hand as he lay in the most self-satisfied position Jaejoong had ever seen in his life. "Junsu, tell me, what do you think about my friend, Jaejoong?" His mocking eyes never moved from Jaejoong's.

The finger went to his lips and paused before he answered. "At first I hated him." He smiled. "And part of me still hates him. But he's alright. Really nice."

With laughter in his eyes, Heechul covered his mouth with one hand as if in shock. "You hear that, Jae? You're really nice." Jaejoong could've yanked out the teeth of everyone in the room at the moment. Even his own.

Without purpose or plan, Jaejoong shot up from his bed and stood to tower over Junsu who looked back up with mild surprise.

"I'm taking you out. Tomorrow."

A tiny burst of color splashed across Junsu's cheeks so subtly, Jaejoong wouldn't have noticed, if he wasn't standing so close.

"T-tomor-"

"Saturday. Just you and me." For the first time in his life, Jaejoong was having trouble making the aggressive glare smoldering in his eyes appear more alluring.

"O...kay," A weak smile was all Junsu could do to hide the mix of confusion and happiness welling inside. There wasn't much he could do at all to hide the shock he received from being hoisted by the arm and practically tossed outside the dorm by his new "date" and watched as the door nearly flattened his nose as it slammed in his face.

"I hate you," Jaejoong snapped as soon as the door was safely locked.

"Junsu's hatred for you is enough for me," Heechul sneered back.

"You always let everyone else you know do your dirty work."

"It's easier than you doing the dirty with that sweetheart Junsu," Heechul crept to the edge of his bunk, legs dangling over the side and arms crossed defiantly and nose tipped royally up into the air.

"You're such a priss."

"Looks like you're the priss according to these pictures," In a flurry, Heechul whipped out his cell phone, brandishing fresh pictures of Baby Jaejoong clad in pink dresses with flowers and bunnies, lovely bonnets and baby powder that probably smelled like strawberries.

"Give that to me!" He made a frantic swipe at the device but failed as the other snatched the phone back and swiftly shoved it back safely in his pocket.

Purposefully, he raised his hand and pointed at Jaejoong's bed wordlessly until Jaejoong shot him the coldest look he could muster.

"Have sex with Junsu in that bed by 11:59pm tomorrow or these pictures go on the internet for the world to see."

There was nothing left to be said. Heechul's heated glare met Jaejoong's cold, black eyes in a silent war that could've lasted years. If Heechul's stomach didn't growl.

"Oh... Oh, man," Jaejoong said worriedly. "Have you eaten anything today? You look thinner than usual."

With a sigh, Heechul sat back and looked up at the ceiling. "I think it's Hankyung. I love him. And he loves me. But...we're just not...clicking."

"Mm-hm," Jaejoong nodded.

"I can tell he wants to be with me but it never seems like he wants to be...with me."

"Still no sex?" Jaejoong's jaw dropped incredulously.

Silence followed.

"Has he even let you kiss him yet?"

Heechul shook his head. "Just...I'm a man, too. I have needs. I play video games with him and his friends. I go to his dance recitals. Jaejoong, I've even started learning Chinese."

"You?! You're horrible at learning languages."

"I know. All this stress has got me skipping meals and I've been drinking more often..."

"I won't let you fall apart like this," With a resolute shake of the head, Jaejoong stood and rummaged around the small cabinet for his special red and black pan. "I'll make you some kimchi jjigae. That okay?""

"Jjigae's fine," Heechul put a hand up to his forehead and flopped back on his bed with a bounce. "Any food touched by your hands is heavenly."

Jaejoong chuckled. "I'll let my mom know you think her pupil is so worthy of cooking your meals."

"I should tell Changmin's mom. I bet she's glad her baby boy doesn't have to starve when the dining halls close after 8pm. Speaking of which, where is he? Haven't seen him in a while. Is he out meeting girls?"

"Doubt it," Jaejoong muttered and cleared his throat. "He'll come back for my bulgogi. Give it time."

There was a pause while Heechul stared thoughtfully up at the ceiling and Jaejoong rummaged around for ingredients.

"Jaejoong?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you think Changmin is asexual?"

"Who knows."

Another wave of comfortable silence followed until Heechul began singing a strange song about backwards being backwards and clapping watermelons.
