This family has come into the store everyday for the past four days.
A man and his wife and three kids.

Now. The father here, is very mentally handicapped and also mildly physically handicapped.
The mother is, in all appearances and functions- normal.

I agree about the reproducing thing. I have thought the very same thing before and it drives me nuts. Even if I someday WANTED a kid, knowing how many problems I have, I would be merciful and NOT pass those genes on. :P

What if that wasn't a family in the sense that you are thinking? What if they are foster care children or adopted or what if the "mom" was actually a caretaker of all of them?

I'm not sure how much you know but maybe there is no blood relation between the adults and children.

But I do agree that if you know that your children will end up with problems (80% chance of higher) Why would you want to continue that instead of possibly adopting? Especially knowing that the child will have many medical problems. It's nmot fun growing up as a sick child. Kida can do it, but it definately puts a strain on your childhood.

I did consider that. As my brother once took in 3 foster kids.

But, they have now come in for FIVE days running.
I've talked to the mom too-
She is married to Eric. And those are her kids- they all look like the parents. And all the boys are pretty much clones of each other. (with the exception of their handicaps.)
